Well Rachel has been at sea almost a month now.  It seems like forever.  I hear from her ocassionally and she is loving it.  Hasn't got sea sick or anything.  Loves her job.  She did call Christmas day and that was very nice.  She sounds so grown up now.  It's hard to believe it's only been 135 days since pir.  It seem like an eternity.  Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  I wish all of you a very Happy New Year and the safe return to all of the troops when they get to come home.

Kimmydee- Oh thats the Navy base. Kay is for sure going to Okinawa. I am already sad. She has not even left TX and she thinks I am crazy!! I am just getting my irrational thoughts in order, lol.

Yes Suzi, and I think the weather is holding out nice. However I did get to sit for an hour and a half in my "COLD" car today!! I locked myself out of my house. I am starting to resemble my mom I fear. lol Gonna be baking tomorrow eve and getting things together.

I am also trying to get things together as Kay will be home in a few weeks, I still have Kyle here and I have to find a place for her. Not fare to make her sleep on the couch!!  So going to be getting things moved around, will take me until she gets home for it to be finished!

Kimmy...Japan...very cool, but understand your daughter missing family.

Lynch is still in Pensacola and will grad his A school 2/1/11. Then to Cali for SERE and then to JAX. He loves Air Crew even though mom worries about the potentials dangers. :) He told me to not even ask about SERE when's he's done with it. He says he will be in JAX a while, but I know well enough to NOT count on that yet, lol.

Looking forward to seeing Tobianne at our Ohio Moms Cookie Exchange this Saturday!! I just wanna give her a HUGE hug!!

Hi all...Glad to see everyone is doing so well, and our Sailors are moving forward and beginning their wonderful careers. I was one of the fortunate ones to have my son Nick home for Thanksgiving. And I also had the pleasure of enjoying another Sailor from Indiana join us. If any of you have an "Anthony", and you know that he went to Maryland for Thanksgiving, know that I tried to do my best to spoil him, just as I did my own. It was so much fun hearing about their adventures, albeit, from Groton, and not Okinawa, but fun to hear all the same. I have to say, although my son was home for a weekend a month or so ago, everytime he returns, he stands taller, and speaks more and more maturely...what a difference, in such a short amount of time. HOORAY Navy...you really have made a man out of my little boy.

I only check in here periodically, so I don't want to miss the chance to wish you all a very merry christmas, and god bless you and yours...and I am holding all of our Sailors tightly in my heart.

Kimmydee and diannep- Kayla is pretty sure she will be in Okinawa for Christmas next year. :-(

I do not know how I will handle this, I will have to get with Kimmy to see how she did it. Where in Japan is she stationed?

I'm so happy, Tobianne, to see Kayla moving forward! What peseverance that girl has! Where will she be overseas? Does she know yet?

rachelsmom: Good luck to your daughter! So glad that you had "early" holidays with her. Is she excited about the deployment?

Kimmy: I know your heart is breaking for her right now...being away for the holidays (my son was in bc for both Thanksgiving and Christmas last year, and away for Thanksgiving this year....but will be home for Christmas). But I'm hoping that rachel will make "new memories" celebrating over there with the others....always treasuring her family holidays and knowing that they will happen again.
How does she like Japan?

Great post, gskids!

Hi all, Kayla got her orders to California. She will be at Port Hueneme in March. Then she received other orders today for over sea. This will happen in 2011. I think that one could last 3 years.

I hope everyone is doing well. In case I am not back on here before have a wonderful Christmas.

Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice holiday. Well Rachel is getting ready to deploy tomorrow. She will be gone until June. Very sad. Didn't get to spend the holiday with her, but she did come home the beginning of November and we did Thanksgiving and Christmas with her then. I hope all is going well with everyones sailors.
