Looking for Mom's of Sailors in Guam on USS Oaklahoma City (ssn723)

Hi, My son is a MM ( or A-Ganger ) on the USS Oaklahoma City in Guam or should I say he will be soon. He's waiting for his sub to come in at this point. It will be his first deployment. The journey has been long and he has had to make new friends several times. Thankfully he has no problem at that. Just hoping to find some Moms out there with Sailors in Guam.

Hi Proud Mom,
My son's sub is scheduled to go to Guam but isn't there yet. He isn't on the same sub as your Sailor but maybe they will know each other some day :)

That would be great. Do you know what your son will be doing? David (my son) really seems to enjoy it over there so far. He's already bought a car and is ready to explore. I have a feeling he will be spending a lot of time in the water. He's looking to get certified in scuba diving while waiting around for his sub to return.

My son is an ET on the OKC.  I am very glad to see another mom on here.

I here the same thing about how he works late and is so tired.  I hope next year I will get the chance to go see him.  :) and fix him spaghetti.

My stepson is an ET on the OKC! He has been there for almost one year.

Is he a nuke or a radioman, mine is a radioman.  I get confused over how many different jobs are classified as ET lol.

LOL I do too! He is in Navigation. Still not sure about rate, rank, job title, etc.. :)
