Kathy - my son refers to it as Nascar in the Ocean!  He must have heard that from someone else because we have never watched car racing on any level in our family.  But I think both donuts and Nascar paint a pretty clear picture of what they are doing!

I am with you about waiting on emails.  But hopefully soon we can get emails back.  Here is some thing funny for yall.  My tell me that all they do is donuts in the ocean meaning that all they do is kind of drive the boat in circles all day and night.  So no telling were they are at in the ocean, but we do know that they are in the ocean. lol

Kathy-thanks for the info. :) Just patiently awaiting an email but I feel like it could be awhile. Oh well. :)

A Sea Service Ribbon is a medal that they get for doing over 90 days out at sea, and yes it is worn on your left side over your hear.  Most all medals are worn on the left side over the heart.

The gold crew did 104 days one time.  How much they are doing this time I have no clue.

My son mentioned it could be longer, which was not what I wanted to hear since this is his first time out. A first for him and me.

susan&donnab-

Alex told me it would be longer as well, but yes, he wasn't specific about it either. Personally, I'm planning on it being closer to four months just so that if he's back earlier it will be awesome and unexpected but I don't think it will actually be that long. :)

My son told us before they left that it would be a bit longer but wasn't specific.
