Janice - I knew about that, and I know that my sailor still drinks - he is just MUCH more responsible than  he was when he was younger and lived here.

Sorry to hear the sad news. I will be praying for the family. I think the Navy really stresses that if they are of age go out and have fun but know when to stop. Also Don't Drink and Drive. My son has a tag on his keychain with a number to call to be picked up and not get in trouble. Sorry to tell you, Tammy he bought some Shinerbock to take to your son. Not a huge amount since we only found 3 in our stores-and we went to several

Sorry to hear this drleeper - I will keep the family in my prayers. I preach the "alcohol issue" alot!  I have to admit that my son is alot better with his alcohol than when he lived here in small town Kansas - where the kids think there is nothing to do but to party and drink.  I am glad that he got out - and he has also mentioned many times that he is glad he got out and has found true friends.

My son is coming home tonight for the weekend.  This is an unexpected visit due to the death of a very good friend from high school.  The student was found dead in  his off campus apartment at Virginia Tech.  The speculation is alcohol related.  He was my son's very first friend 16 years ago when we moved into Shrewsbury PA.  Talk to your sons and impress on them that alcohol is nothing to take chances with.  If you are a praying person, I ask for prays for his family.  It's a very sad situation.

We haven't got any snow to speak of yet this winter, a little dusting but that it is. We are use to snow too, but nothing like they get on the East Coast.  I hope it lets up for them soon.

Do you have school in that weather? We have already had 5 snow days.

I sure hope so too Holly. We have a total of 56.7 inches of snow here in Groton. We are expected to get 3 inches sometime on Saturday and possibly another storm Wednesday but I hope not.

Boy the weather is something over there. My boys are use to snow, which I am glad of, but I can imagine those who haven't ever dealt with it before. I hope it starts to let up soon for them. Our winter started out like that here and they weren't getting anything in Groton. Now it is the opposite.

Well, those two weeks went by fast.  Had a great time on vacation and a great visit.  My sailor is packed up - with cookies and brownies in tow too, and flies back tomorrow morning.  Hope he has good travels and not too many delays.

I suppose it is back to the day in and day out of things now. Glad we all had time with our guys! Visited with both mine today. It was nice.
