USS Bataan LHD-5

Group for family members of Sailors who are on the USS Bataan (LHD-5)

Members: 144
Latest Activity: Aug 25, 2019

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

Mar3n1...Same for my daughter. She is an ABH. Once again we are heading into unknown territory though she is anxious to get back into the military lifestyle

So my Son is home for his visit before he reports to Norfolk and his Ship. So excited to have him home for a few days even though I know he's excited to get down there and see his ship.

Thank Joe&NateMom. His Grandparents were hoping for San Diego closer to them. When he called with his orders I was like YES! Closer to me yay! He will be done with schooling sometime in Oct.

Welcome Mar3n1...My son has been on the Bataan for nearly 3 years. We like him being in Norfolk because, like you, he's fairly close to home. He seems to like it there. Lots to do around the area. They are out to sea right now so he's once again seeing the world on the Navy's dime!

Thank you. Super excited we finally know where he is being stationed. It'll be a few months I know and I know orders can change but I'm happy he will be fairly close to home and I have something I can do while he finishes up A school.
