I just found out I will be on the upcoming tiger cruise.  Looking for information on what to expect, pack etc.  Still waiting for final dates, but curious if anyone has done one before?

Hey! just wanted to spread the word about the USS Dewey's Family Readiness Group. We host events for families of sailors and try to keep everyone informed. During the upcoming deployment we will also send out messages to long distance spouses/mothers who want to contribute. Message me if you want to be added to our mailing list, or have questions.

Hello.  My sailor just got orders today for San Deigo and The Dewey.  He is an ET and has been in Great Lakes since his PIR in July 2010.  Any info anyone has would be great.  I believe he will be attending a C school there as well

Helen - I don't think I can share the pics on line... but I will ask if there are any that are "safe" to share.  There probably are but I just am not sure which ones, ha! So, is your son a CS or is he an FSA on assignment to the gally for now? Maybe him and my husband know each other...

I just want to share what I got to do for Thanksgiving :) I was able to eat dinner aboard the USS Dewey with my husband and some of the other Sailors. It was really cool!!! I got to get a tour of the entire ship. There is so much I want to share but I am not too sure what I am aloud to say and what I should not say. So, better safe than sorry! Let's just say.... IT WAS SO AWESOME!!! Plus, I was able to return the next day and have lunch aboard the ship as well. I love being able to picture what the inside looks like now for if/when they go on deployment. I have never even been on a cruise ship before... much less a GUIDED MISSLE DESTROYER!!!! Wow!!! It was so awesome!
