Hello All

My son is now stationed at Virginia Beach and we are trying to figure everything out....he is saying right away that he needs a vehicle .. also, I read on one of the boards/groups that there are families that are willing to help the sailors that are new to the area to get acclimated, adjusted and settled in.  Any advice or help would be most appreciated !  THANK YOU !

I really just want to see my son. So as long as the hotel is clean and comfortable, and not over priced, I am good.

Wendy Am2.  I live in Virginia Beach.  The Gateway Inn on base should be fine.  Be prepared for jet noise.  The base is close to the beach and shopping.  Plenty of places to stay, depends on what kind of experience you want.  What is important to you?

Hi all! My. Name is Rayna, I'm the wife of a retired HT with a son in the Nuke program at bootcamp right now. We are are in VB near Town Center. Trying to make this home, but just not there yet! Less so without my son here. Looking to connect, especially with other moms! Was a Military wife for 12 years and willing to assist / answer questions for the next generation. Just ask! I work for Sentara and go to school full time. I have a 12yo daughter and 3 dogs!!! We stay busy! Being a retired transplanted family, we don't have our family here or deep rooted relationships that make a house a home..... So looking to make it home and meet some great folks in VB!!! :)

I think I might be in the right place... my sailor is being sent to Oceana VA to work with strike fighter squadron 31...is this the right place?

He is undesignated after getting out of his special ops contract because the classes were not going to start for monhts and he didn't want to wait...NOT sure what he is going to be doing..

Just a confused Navy mom of a Corpment in Texas and now off to Virginia..and 3 at home!

dawn in MI

PS: at least he is a warm place, LOL brrrrrrrrrr
