Well I've talked to Cody all day. He's went up in the arch already lol. I only shed a few tears when I hugged him goodbye. I think I'm handling it on right now because I can talk to him this week and see him on Thursday. After that I'm going to loose it and it will hit me hard I'm sure. But I am so glad we can all talk to each other on here fo
r support. I hope to meet you guys Thursday at the picnic. Hang in there girls if our boys can handle what they are getting ready for we can handle this together

I held strong until I got home and I have been a mess all day. Everything I see is making me break down. I was just texting him and he is doing good and is bonding with the others that came in from KC to STL. Now I can't wait to see him Thursday. I'm emotionally exhausted.

it hit me today when I seen my son and his girlfriend saying goodbye.  I broke down once Sat and I'm try not to think about it til Wednesday when we head to St Louis.  I'm taking this one harder than I did with my older son 3 years ago.

I'm right there with you Rbean.  We had his going away party last night.  Today I read a letter from his godfather to him before I wrote my 3 page letter for him to take.  I cried like a baby as I was writing it.  This last week and this weekend has flown by.  I can't believe he is leaving in the morning.  I think I'm like you in a fog...  it doesn't feel real.  It's like i'm in denial.  The hard thing will be for me to come home after St louis and realize I'm not going to be able to see him for 9 week.s  I'm not ready for it I know that. This is one of the hardest things I've had to do.

Cant believe the time is almost here. I have just been in some sort of fog today. Not emotional, just a lost feeling.  Time is just flying by, my SR graduated high school in may, just turned 18 fifteen days ago and now he is going to be gone. BUT I'm so happy and proud he has taken this path in life and very grateful that I will get to see him Thursday. Looks like the weather is going to be great for all the festivities also.  -Robyn

my son ust found out this last week he will leave on Monday to go to St. Louis thats the one thing I hate is the not knowing until the last min but I have to get use to it cause it will always be that way for the military.  We will be going up on Wednesday since everything starts so early on Thursday.  It never gets easier and this is my second time in three years to sent a son to basic.   Hope everyone has safe travel to St Louis and hope to meet you all there.

Hi, my son was also chosen. He had his last Dep meeting tonight and I'm anxiously waiting for him to get back so maybe I can find out more details from him. I do know my son is leaving Monday for KC and they will be taking a greyhound to St. Louis.  Thanks for starting this group. :)
