I am sorry to hear that! It sounds as though he was transferring out of the nuke program, but did not get assigned to another rating (job). It's so hard when one's goals get turned upside down like that, especially when other sad news is mixed in. Condolences also on your family's loss of a mother/grandmother.

Elina I am sorry to hear this. If he was in A school in the nuke program then often rather than re-rate them they will separate them. It's usually only once they are in Power School or Prototype that they will re-rate them. But nothing is set in stone. Stay in contact with him and yes, remind him that this isn't the end of the world. There is something bigger and better out there for him - he is in no way a failure. I'm sure this doesn't make him feel better right now but in time he'll figure it out. Hang in there. And my condolences on your loss.
