I am married to a wonderful husband and father of 25 years. We have 3 beautifull children. Our daughter who is married with our first granddaughter and has returned from a 3 year deployment in the UK as her wonderful husband who finished his last hitch in the US Airforce. They have been home just over a year and just blessed us with a set of twin granddaughters .
A very awsome sailor Steven who is stationed in San Diago, CA on the USS Carl Vinson CVN 70 she is the most beautiful ship in the fleet. I may be a little bias on that comment. He is an AO and just got his promation. He should be getting frocked very soon and receiving his crow.. I will have to say that I get tears when I see him in uniform. I will say that I pretty much feel that way when I see any of our service personel in uniform as I know how proud their families are of them.
Our last but not least is Marcus who is going to 8th grade and is very active in Track. He can not wait for next season. He is always wanting to be faster than his brother Steven. He is also very pationate about his guatars. He is working hard on learning to play and is very insistant on teaching himself.
We love time with our family and going to the lake. I was so glad Steven was able to be homve for a few weeks to meet his new neices.
I am here to support or represent my:
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Be strong for them as they need it. It is such a lifestyle change for them. Especially if they have a strong family bond.
It has enriched my relationship with my son I am so very proud of him and can not wait to tell someone about him or show them his picture in uniform
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

His PIR is 12/30. 12 days until I leave for Chicago! I have a huge calendar in my kitchen with a countdown on it. LOL. My 6 year old came home from school today with a christmas gift for his uncle. He didn't understand that he wouldn't actually be able to give it to him. It brought tears to my eyes. I guess we will have to get used to that. I told him I would would bring it with me when I go up to see him but I could tell he was still disappointed. :( Is that your granddaughter in your pictures? She is adorable! The picture in the pink hat is the cutest thing ever!

Thanks for the heads up. We are going to order the dvd. We are staying in Waukeegan (sp?) at the Candlewood Suites. A couple of other families from our PIR group are staying there too. I already told my hubby that we WILL be in line at the gate no later than 6am since the gates open at 6:30. Someone told me there are division flags or posters there and to sit right in the front. I can't wait. It's coming so soon. I'm like some giddy schoolgirl. It's ridiculous but I don't care. He's atheletic petty officer. Will he have something to distinguish him for that? I'm just thinking that they're all going to look pretty much the same out there and want to find my Sailor before it's over. LOL.
Hi Carmaletta! My personal email addy is firstname.lastname@example.org, very simple...yes, I would appreciate the ombudsman's address, funny, I've talked with them on the phone but we've never exchanged email addresses. Thanks for sharing.
