I live in a small, East Texas community. I enjoy the country life and still work full time even though I am nearing retirement age. I am the daughter of a former Marine now deceased, wife of an former sailor, sister of a former Marine and of course, mom of a young sailor. I am very proud of my son's decision to join the Navy after college and believe this is the best path for young adults.

From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
We have invested the most important piece of our lives in the Navy and should be proud of their choice and supportive no matter what comes their way. I also realize that we have to be very careful what we share in order to protect all our men and women.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
