Since your SR will go to “A” School for Damage Controlman (DC), join Damage Control Mom's, and you may also find others with loved ones with that rating in Engineers, Snipe Moms, and Snipe Moms(enginers). You will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for DC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/dc.pdf. You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. (See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.)

SarahsMom,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! We are a friendly caring group of moms and are always willing to listen, share and help each other whenever or wherever we can. Please feel free to join our chats, we love talking about everything from work, family, weather - whatever. Plus the joyful and anxiety filled journey of being a Navy Mom!!!  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  I saw your post about getting her address - you should be able to call her recruiter and they should have her address in a day or two.  Once the recruiter knows her ship and division she is assigned to, both of you can get the address from the RTC website.  Hope this helps.  We look forward to learning about you and your sailor!!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

You are very welcome.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in December  to connect with others with loved ones who left the same day and may have PIR together.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and PIR Reference Information. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening, but you will also want to check out the other Pages in all of the groups.
