Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

confused!

Hello, My SR called his girlfriend today.  It was a great surprise because when he called her this past Saturday he said it will be a few more weeks until he can call again.  He said because his division is doing so well, they were given phone privileges today.  When his girlfriend called to give me the great news, she also mentioned that she was chatting on line with one of the wives of another SR and she said that her husband had mention that because their division was doing so well, they…

Received my first phone call today!!!!!

I  received my fist phone call from my SR who is in div 222.  He said he is the RPOC of  division 222, which means that he is responsible in making sure everyone in his division gets to where they are to be on time, and if they are late, he pays the price. Wow...I am so proud and so impressed!!!  He said that he passed his swim test and has gained 10 pounds already.  His division was the first to receive their dog tags too. He said he had to go and get ready for…

Missing him badly....

My son left Friday for basic training and I received my "I am here!" phone call a few hours later.  I wanted to ask him a million questions, but he said he needed to go and even though I understood, I felt like I was letting him go all over again.  I have been crying on and off since I left MEPS on Friday.  Does this get easier???  I am sure I will feel better when I receive his first letter and again when I get to hear his voice again when he calls in 3 or so weeks, as he told me over the…

You may also want to join CARRIER Families! and/or Norfolk Sailors - Family & Friends. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty)? There may be a group for that as well.

I see you have changed your Username, you may also need to change the URL to this page. If you do, make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. Also make change 3 while you are there. There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com. My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012. He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron. He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic. I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp. I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)

Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
