It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

My daughter left for BC last week, and although missing and worrying is an understatement, I try to fill my time keeping busy and fill my heart with pride.  I'm counting down the days (even though I don't know exactly how many yet!) until graduation, writing letters every day, and getting a lot of ideas, advice, and reassurance from this site.  I'd love to make some friends with other moms who have sons or daughters away at BC.

March 19, 2013 Daughter Left for BC

Posted on March 25, 2013 at 5:09pm 11 Comments

My daughter left for BC Mach 19, 2013.  I was wondering if there were any other moms out there who may have sons or daughters who left on the same day.  I'd like to connect with some other moms on the site with similar timelines, but not quite sure how to get started.

Hi. My daughter Christina is an OS3 and has been there since June 2012. Was on tourtuga till hull swap late this summer. They left for Philippines and should arrive shortly. Don't know how long. She adjusted well and has seen a lot.good luck to your daughter. Right now communication is iffy...that part is hard.

Hi Janai's Mom, Congratulations on your daughter's PIR. It's wonderful to know you are just off Lincoln Way.  We've probably run into each other at Raley's a dozen times and didn't know it. Lol. How long have you been in the area ? I've been here since 1980. I have 2 sons. My youngest will PIR on 8/2.  We should have coffee sometime with Leslie and chat more. Thanks for the friend request. Enjoy your weekend.

Hi! I was heartbroken when I saw others were receiving the box on Friday. I came home today and found the tag... Immediately jumped in the car and was at the FedEx office in record time! Did not find a note, but felt a huge sense of relief by having his belongings in my possession. Our dog could tell immediately that it was my SR belongings, he pulled out his hoodie and carried onto the couch and laid on it. I think the dog is even feeling better now! Haha!
Have patience, I'm sure you will be receiving your daughters belongings tomorrow! Let me know where your daughter lands and the PIR date too!
