A little about me:
I'm a Mom of 4 boys! My oldest son Jesse (18) has joined the Navy! His job is Navy Aircrew Rescue Swimmer. I must say I was a little blindsided by this decision. I always pictured him attending a University and sticking close to home. Well, we as Moms, always seem to find out we don't always have a choice as to what they do when they 'grow up' I have since become an EXTREMELY proud parent of a Sailor!!! And I couldn't be prouder!!!
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Be Proud! It takes an extreme and selfless human being to join the military! Go Navy!!!!
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

FOREVER YOUNG

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 5:00pm 4 Comments

May the good Lord be with you

Down every road you roam

And may sunshine and happiness

surround you when you're far from home

And may you grow to be proud

Dignified and true

And do unto others

As you'd have done to you

Be courageous and be brave

And in my heart you'll always stay

Forever…

He said he was doing well ~ has good days and then some "not so good days" as he put it.  I hope you've gotten a letter by now :)  It will help for sure!  I miss him terribly too!  I've never gone more than a day without talking to him...this is so hard.  We haven't booked our hotel yet, going to do that this week.

Hello There ~ Yes we are going for sure...are you?  We finally got a letter on Saturday..and hoping our letters made it too!  are you going?  Did you get a letter yet?  I would really like to meet some parents...and share our stories.  It's so wierd without him around!  The letter helped...but a phone call would be great!

Dear Jessesmom,

This animalcookie I got the response you sent about our first born leaving. And I want to say THANK YOU.   I know exactly how you feel when our sons do come back I've been told they will be men.  When they do come back I know our hearts will once again be filled with happiness hang in there the days are getting easier.

Hi! I know just how you feel...our son was a DEPer since last year, and it seems like a lifetime ago! I wandered around our home, sat in his room and cried. It was hard...it's still hard, but pride fills my heart. I know that the Navy makes him happy, and serving others. So, let the countdown continue! 37 days til PIR. Look up Navy College, if you haven't already...the Sailors are earning college credit, even in boot camp. Mine is going to corpsman school and wants to eventually be a RN...and will be earning credits towards that as well.

hi!! Yes, we are very in love and its harder and harder everyday not being able to see him! Where is your son based at? Has he done a deployment yet? Btw i LOVE your picture of you and your son very very cute!!

Monica, Wish I could tell you it gets easier. We had Joe home for 6 months. I think I asked him weekly if he was sure he wanted to go :) The worst part about bootcamp is not being able to talk to him whenever I want. I cry less, but still cry :( Miss my kid a lot! Worry he might get hurt and not be able to finish BC, which would disappoint him terribly. Will be so proud when he does it though. So yes, my emotions are all over the board. Karen
