Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Join Navy For Moms
Don't forget to make the changes below. Go to OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and make at least changes 1 (ZIP code), 3 (Just My Friends), and 7 (hide groups). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.
Join PIR 03/20/2015 TG 19 - 9 Divisions (113-118, 807, 808, and 919) to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit. There later will be a discussion within that group for the brother divisions, but that doesn't mean you have to reply. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes. Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your recruit. (Read 800 and 900 Divisions for additional information to help you decide what changes to make.)
Since you have a recruit at the RTC, you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to "Enlisted."
The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, will have some important information for you.
26 January is coming soon. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest that you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect. Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter.
Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer him to some good links on there.
When does your son leave?
OK to bring:
Wrist watch, wedding ring.
Religious medallion (No larger than the size of a dog tag).
Writing material (NO bottled ink).
Pocket dictionary.
Pocket bible.
Small address book.
Hairbrush and comb.
Pre-paid phone cards.
One pair of prescription glasses, reading glasses or contacts (with one week of cleaning solution).
A small amount of cash (i.e. less than $10).
