BAH & BAS after marriage

Hello ladies :)My fiance and I are planning to get married sometime next month, and I was just curious how long we can expect to wait afterwards before he starts getting BAH. Also, I'm a little fuzzy on how BAS works now; the way I understand it, everyone gets it but if you live on base, you're automatically on the galley list, which means they take your BAS right back. Now, we're living in an apartment off base and paying rent out of pocket, but because he's an unmarried E-2, he still has to…See More

"the only thing different being attached to a squadron vs a ship is they go on DETS (detachments) usually to airforce bases. as where a ship goes on underways either out to sea or to other ports."

Sorry for double posting, but this wasn't getting any hits in the Jax group:Hey everyone, hoping that someone might be able to answer this once and for all. My boyfriend is at NAS Jacksonville and I'm trying to figure out a way to move down there with him, but we're not entirely sure how housing works for those in our situation. We want to wait a few years to get married, so obviously we can't live on base together. At first, the impression I got just from browsing around here was that he…See More
