"Back in 2009 my sailor waited 6 weeks to class up, I know it varies all the time and seems to be especially long lately. The government shutdown last year might have something to do with the long wait now, but I don't know for sure.…"
"ktssong, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and prayers your way. Did you contact the red cross? Even if he can't get home then his command would know the situation and help him if he needs it."
"Welcome teacup!!! You might want to post in the main discussion area below, more people might see your post and respond. My sailor is in a squadron and doesn't stay on the ship when it is in port butI usually keep in touch with my sailor…"
"Great news on your trip Monica! Have fun!
I went on the last Tiger Cruise, it was eye opening. My sailor just got a female in his department to sponsor his sister and me and show us where to bunk. Most of the time he would meet us near the female…"
"Have to say that when my marine son-in-law and daughter had a house on base they always took in people that needed some place to live. It was just the thing to do. They invited people over so they could get out of the barracks and enjoy a house,…"

Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy Career?
When I heard “Navy,” I:
Was proud and encouraged it
From my experience with the Navy, the most important thing I learned was:
Plans are never final until they actually happen. Be prepared to change!
Hurry up and wait.
Through this Navy experience, I now believe:

Hello there, I hope one of these days we will be online here at the same time. Yes, my son is at Boot Camp, one more month to go......whoooo hooooo. He graduates on Feb. 1st. Looking forward to see him again and here is voice. I have one son left at home as well, but thank goodness we have a snowblower, ha ha. Never know with the winters here how much snow we will get. Hope to talk soon, take care, and have a Happy New Year.
Hi Wi-mom, I read somewhere that you were in Hawaii for the 4th of July. I was there June 24th to July 9th visiting my daughter. How did you like the festivities at Pearl Harbor with all the ships there for RIMPAC? It was amazing but so so CROWDED!! How did you enjoy your trip?
Glad to be your friend, sorry I didn't see the invite until just now. The Hampton Inn is right on Hampton Blvd. It's only 5 minutes, if that, to the base. Right down the street. Very comfortable, you'll enjoy it. There are places to eat on the blvd. near the hotel. When you meet up with your sailor, he can take you to the NEX and you can shop cheap. He probably knows his way all around Norfolk (it's not that big). I am so sorry that I am not coming this year. I didn't join N4M until after last year's HC. Now, that I have friends, I'm a little upset that I won't be able to meet them. Do have a grand time, as I know that you will!!
I received the sweetest note from you son today. It said " I received your card yesterday, March 25. I picked it up on my lunch break and put off reading it till Taps thinking it was just from my mom. I looked at the return address puzzled for about a half hour trying to think if I know you. When I opened the card and read HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It instantly brought a smile. It wasn't until tonight that I figured out what N4M stood for. I guess the light bulb went off and everything fell into place. It truly did lift my spirits to know we have more support than our family and boastful moms. Once again Thank you for the card and the smile that made a stressful day melt away."
Isn't that sweet! What a good young man to write back. You should be very proud!
