Correction to previous Blog.

Can't wait for PIR!! Yes, just a little excited!! I got to talk to her about 30 minutes ago. Her division won the Captain's cup and they were allowed phone time. She still sounds great! Can't wait to see her this coming Friday!!! Makes me want to cry big tears of joy that it's almost here!! 8 weeks without seeing one of your daughters and only being able to hear their sweet voice about 3 times during that time frame is a killer!! Made it through. I'm sure PIR will be a very emotional day for… Continue

My son just went to boot camp

My son left on Monday morning for boot camp. I just recieved his box of things (some kinda smelly) and I cried while looking at his dirty clothes... I just would like to make a few connections with a few moms just to share these feelings with. Joy sadness etc.... and does any one know how long it will be before they can send letters home? I have to wait until monday, tomorrow until the recruiter will be able to give me his address. I am just anxious and worried.

Anyone heard of Rhabdomyolysis?

My son was only into his 2nd week of bootcamp and was sent to hospital for what is called Rhabdomyolysis and i'm really worried. Not only is he away from home, but now in hopital with an IV and now will have to be set back for graduation which is not nearly as important than him getting well. I don't know how often or commin this is in bootcamp but i just would like to hear from anyone else that has experienced this. Thanks for your support.

What is living on base like during deployments ?

I was wondering if anyone knows which is better, living on or off base.?? My husband said that he doesn't want certain groups of wives to influence me to be unfaithful. He shared a few stories from the rdc's ,saying they claimed to be cheated on and that their wives were cheating on them during deployments. Because of that, Andrew is scared to live on base. So I would like to hear the womens side and hear another perspective from other military wives.

The Humorous Side Continues:Acronyms - New Moms BE PREPARED!!!

One thing about being on a site like this is that you get to speak with people who are in all different stages of their exposure to the Navy experience. My first two weeks with Chris away at boot camp were difficult at points emotionally. The first letter was upsetting and I waited and prayed that the next would be at least somewhat better. HOORAY! It came yesterday - written at the end of day 14 and my boy was feeling markedly different. He apologized for the negativity in his first letter and… Continue

The Day After Surgery=)

Well,Andrews surgery went pretty good. He was actually able to be up and around for liberty! People were saying he's crazy. But he says he is just alittle sore in the neck. He went out and got energy drinks and supposedly got me a surprise that he is going to mail sunday! yay. I sort of feel guilty that he wanted me to drive up there today and I can't. I still haven't got the oil changed in the car yet. But I Valentines weekend and spend it with him. My mom is taking time off work to keep… Continue

My Husband Before Bootcamp!!

*My brother suggested starting a thing where I talk about my Husband and how he was before Bootcamp, and how he will possibly change...this is going to be fun*

---Ways Bootcamp will probably change him---

1. Im not sure if he knows how to do laundry. Well, let me take that back. Im not sure he knows how to do laundry "correctly". Like how to sort by colors and what temp and cycle to use. I heard they do their own laundry there.

2. Im trying to imagine his face when… Continue

Email today!

I received an email from our son today (9:00am their time). Wahoo!! I was so excited. It didn't say much but he's still alive and kicking. Sounds like showers are very short. I have been sending a card everyday. I'll be glad when he can start opening them. I never heard which group he is in. I haven't received a formed letter yet either. Just waiting...Seems like this week went by so slow! I bet even slower for him. I'm saying prayers for all LOs and their families.

A Note from the Navy Reserve Force Master Chief

Greetings Shipmates!

As one of multiple CNO’s Calls this week was wrapping up, a gentleman from Haiti who had lost family members was eager to tell the Admiral thank you for what the Navy specifically is doing for Haiti.

It was great to hear the CNO highlight the Navy Reserve within his first talking points. He sincerely appreciates the diversity of skills and capabilities that Navy Reserve Sailors provide, not just during disaster relief efforts, but as part of the Total… Continue

Surgery Day.

Well,Andrew is going into surgery about nine this morning. He is taking a nap at the hospital until they are ready for him. He called and said he's hooked up to the iv now. He is going to call when he comes out of it. I wish I was there to be with him. I am so stressed out. But I know everything will be okay. Two more weeks til I get to go spend a few days with him! =]

Today I have to go grocery shopping and get the oil in the car changed so maybe that stuff will take my mind off it for a… Continue

My sailor has surgery tomorrow.

Well, today is very nerve wrecking. My husband is still stuck at boot camp. Yesterday he got bumped up to phase lll but waiting to see if and when he goes to a school is making me antzy. Tomorrow he has surgery to get one of his lymph nodes cut out. So they have ruled out that he has cancer in the lungs. So he will be in bed rest all day tomorrow. I was going to drive up there to be with him but he wont be able to leave base for liberty. Plus I don't want him to have to walk around while he is… Continue
