How long does relating take?

Sorry for the length, but here goes. My son is a reservist in MA A school, but failed out. He is being put in holding while waiting to rerate at another A school. He said some guys said it could take a year or two. He's very upset, and doesn't want to wait around cleaning for a year. Is this likely?
He also said he won't get liberty and isn't allowed visitors. Is that true?
Thanks.

Injured

My son left for bootcamp Oct 6, on Oct 12 I think I got a call from him saying he was in the hospital.  He fell and hit his head in his room, he has been in the hospital ever since with severe headaches and vertigo. He is unable to walk on his own because of the vertigo.  I am losing it.  I am able to call him whenever I want which is a blessing, but he never has any news about his condition. Anyone have any ideas for me on how to deal with this? I was prepared for him to leave, but I never…

Mil to Mil spouses , Colocation

So my husband is active duty stationed here in Hawaii and we love it. However, before he enlisted I was going to enlist in the military. Currently my husband is deployed, but supports my endeavors to still enlist in the military, specifically the Navy because that is the branch he is in (obviously).  I have talked to a recruiter here in Hawaii, but I scored pretty well on the high spectrum for the ASVAB so I feel like he wants me to "rush" into the navy process. My question, however, is…

US Air, are you kidding us?!?

Please read the following Facebook post by Brian Kirby this evening.  I can assure you I will not travel US Air and I encourage other military families to consider the event described when making your travel reservations! As a person who has travelled over one million miles in my career, I know there are better choices the flight attendant could have made.  This should not be tolerated.

"I cannot believe what I have just witnessed. I am sitting in first class on US Airways…

A School Graduation

I can't find any current information about A School graduation.  My daughter is in Pensacola FL.  I loved the PIR ceremony and was wondering if A school was similar but I am guessing not.  What goes on during the graduation. She said 31 sailors left boot camp for the same school so I know it is not a very big class... just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on A School graduation.

ship 4 division 337

I'm new to the site and my son is scheduled to graduate on October 24. Are there any moms out there with sons or daughters in ship 4 division 337 or graduating on the same date? I've gotten a total of 3 calls from my son since he left (including the quick one when he arrived) and 2 letters. I've tried to write him often and send him news articles, etc, to keep him connected with home. I am so looking forward to seeing him at graduation!

Missing My Mom

So every time I have felt a little bit sad or down recently, I have thought of my mom. I miss her so much! I moved to Pensacola with my husband, and she lives in Virginia. My husband tries to comfort me, but I really want her advise. And her hugs. He thinks I'm missing her a lot because its near the holidays. This could be true.

At the current moment we don't know where we will be stationed after he is done school. I really hope it is back in Virginia!

Letter & Call from boot camp!

I got my son's address from our local reruiter and started writing him last week, he said that he was so happy to get mail from home. I received my letter on Saturday and got a call from him on Sunday,he sounds like he's doing fine. He will graduate on 11/21. He's a Starboard Watch Section Leader and he's in the 902 division that performs at PIR graduation. I don't know what any of that means but he sounded excited and it made me happy. It's good to know that he is ok!

NEED Help! Can someone explain this to me? TIA

I need help!  My daughter has been deployed for almost a year...has been on active duty for 15+ months.  She is undesignated.  I just spoke with her and she says she is not rated and they have 10 days to rate her or she will be able to come home after deployment.  If they rate her then she will continue to serve.  I seriously don't understand any of this.  Can someone explain it to me?
