{I chose not to read any comments since Thursday morning regarding this subject, instead leaving one comment last night, and focusing on writing this out for myself primarily, to process my own feelings and attitudes. No intention is made to be judgmental or corrective of anyone else.}
I have realized within the last 24 hours that over the course of the last few days, I have forgotten to adhere to one of my principles that I use to judge/ approach information which I receive, whether…

I have been talking with several of the mother's on this site and in the new division. I feel this is going to be good and all will work in the end. The new division sounds good and close, plus he is on the USS Arizona. That ship has always been special to me. I have been able to visit twice now. I am seeing good signs and feeling the love of the other mothers.The worst really is no letters for a few weeks and was looking forward to hugging my son. I can make the 3 weeks until I see him and…

No matter what line of work you’re in this is always a potential risk, especially in the military. So despite that things could change you can still make it work, however you both will need…

Teens and young adults who strive for academic excellence, wish to build their confidence, secure a fulfilling future, and want to show dedication to their country may find a perfect fit and benefit from enrolling in a program like NROTC (Navy Reserves Officer’s Training Corps). While I am not worried that I did not get the call as I had the pleasure of speaking to her at 1700 and also seeing her swear in. I know that the Navy is taking care of her and that she is safe. I am hoping she will get some sleep tonight, since I know the real "fun" will begin for her tomorrow. I am writing letters daily (a couple times today). Looking forward to being able to send to her.
I just have to keep reassuring myself she is fine, many have gone before her and done the exact…

My husband got swore in on the 13th of May in San Diego, he flew to Illinois on May 14th. He is now in his 10th day at boot camp I guess you can say. I am missing him more than ever before. I am living at my in laws house. Its so hard waking up every morning and not having him next to me, going to bed every night and not having him there. We are a team, we're so used to being together all the time together and now that he's hundreds of…

It has taken my daughter a year removed from High School to embark on her Navy journey. While I could not be more proud, I also admit to having some trepidations although that is purely self-motivated.
K met with the recruiters two weeks ago today. She was ready to sign any papers placed in front of her, the only lingering question was "what" she wanted to do. She had a great ACT score, so the possibilities seemed endless. Chief encouraged her to consider Nuclear Engineering, since so…

Anywho... My company allows me to work for home to do this. Currently I work in the building and work full time. I was…
