As I sit here and reflect on the past few days with my daughter, I cannot help but feel emotional. I only cried a few tears after we said our goodbye's following the swearing in ceremony at MEPS. I was fortunate she could still text and talk when she arrived at O'Hare and was resting at the USO. She said she was scared, I reassured her so were all of the other recruits. this is it.. i was meant to leave in january and in a second, i was leaving next month. I'm terrified out of my mind and unaware on whether i can do this or not. Today I got the last set of letters from my love, I also got a random and very unexpected phone call on sat! I have to admit I will miss getting letters from him in the mail, but it does mean boot camp is coming to an end and we can move on to skype dates!

His letters were short, but in all hes still excelling!

“Well today after the Holiday Routine we had a Divisional beat down. These kids just don’t want to listen to the recruit chain of command, and they don’t know how to act. Plus most of the recruit chain of command can’t even follow their own orders. What a joke!Then add in the fact that these kids cant even figure out how to march in columns of 3 or 6.…

Jan 2. 2011 - He didn’t have much to say today

“We are losing 2 shipmates, one for writing letters to another recruit during church and another for keeping her cell phone. I am doing what I am told to do, no more, no less. they are not sending me back. We now do armed watches. I have lost track of the what day it is, and if I told you the chatter was bad during the day, its worse at…

So no phone call yesterday…. pretty much ruined my day! Today even though I didn’t really want to I got up and went to church. It was nice. After church we had lunch, and I left to go to walmart… I had to get vinegar and baking soda to clean my VERY burnt pan!

I was wondering around just looking at stuff and my phone rang…. ILLINOIS!!!!! “Hello!! TIM??” When I heard him say “Hi Hun, its me! I’ve got 15 min” I burst…
