looking over RTC website it has immunization records as an item needed. Sons recruiter said he didn't need it. He leaves for BC Feb 3. Can anyone help with this?  Did your son or daughter need this when they left for BC. He has been in the DEP. Thanks in advance for any replies.

It is listed to take it and some have managed to not have some immunizations that others got because they were current.

Check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for.... I don't list it because it will not cause a problem if the recruit does not take it and the RTC site does list it as mandatory.

My son leaves Feb. 4 and his recruiter has not mentioned that in his DEP and mentoring meetings.

My daughter is in BC now and she did not need it. They receive SEVERAL vaccinations when they get there!!

I specifically asked about her immunization records and was told she didn't need them since the Navy was going to start from scratch. She's been at RTC for a week now and I haven't received a call asking me to forward them.

If a copy was made prior to shipping and is included in the recruit's file, then they usually won't need the immunization record at the RTC. If a copy was not made, some recruits have avoided some of the immunizations by taking the immunization record with them and others got every shot at the RTC even though they (or mom) believed that one or more was not yet due.
