Any suggestions on wording & what to include in a newspaper write up with picture of my daughter for her graduation from boot camp and moving onto school in the Navy?

Your local newspaper may already have a questionaire for you to fill out.

I had read some months ago that the Navy submits the info... maybe that explains why I never saw my Sailors announcement in the local paper. 8-(

My son's was in our llocal paper. During bootcamp processing days, they filled out a form if they wanted it to be in the local paper. Navy sent all to newspaper. I submitted photo and it was in the paper within 3 days of getting all info.

This is shortcut to website that shows writeup that will be in local paper. Search your state and recruits name. If you do not see their name there, they did not sign up for paper publication.

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to get something written up and get it out in our papers. Today she left for Mississippi to A School. She'll be a SeaBee. Thanks everyone. What a great support group you all are. This has been hard for me since I know nothing and she is my youngest. Empty nest now. Have a great day.

We come from a small town and my son asked us to wait to put his info in the local newspapeer. We waited until all of his schools were completed and then put in an announcement. The local paper decided to run it as an actual feature article, using what I had written up. We used a picture of the 3 of us, all in uniform. It was way cool!

Our Recruiter had sent Garret's info to our local paper. And then I found out, The Navy sent it to all to newspapers. I submitted photo and it was in the paper within 3 days of getting all info. I used his PIR pic.
Big Navy Hugs!! LeisaL.

I thought the Navy put an article in the Newspaper but nothing ever came out in the paper about my sailor. I would like to put something in the paper after he completes C school in November. I like the idea of waiting until he is completely done.
