We dropped Bryce off at the Recruiters office today.  He will go through prep and stay overnight.  We will see his official swear in between 9am and 10am and be able to spend some time together until he leaves for his flight to the Great Lakes training center.  Wow! It's here and it is happening. Sad and happy at the same time.

Our son left on 4/3/2014, that was a very emotional day but a wonderful day. We have heard from him a few times since. He sounds like he is in heaven, so energized. The letters are like magic and hearing his voice is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. Enjoy the ride!

Our son left on 4/17/14.  I am so proud of his decision.  I received the official call when arrived in Great Lakes.  About a week later I got "the box".  I was difficult opening it to find his belongings.  I have not received the letter yet that tells us of his graduation date or mailing address.  I went and got note cards so he is not spending a lot of time reading long letters.  I have two ready to mail out.  This site has a lot of good information so explore it.  Our children are making us proud!

My son also left on 05/01/2014.  We spent time with him at the airport.  He was very strong until the end when he had to say goodbye.  Got the call from Chicago he made it to Chicago would call me from camp.  Got a 30 second call from Justin basically stating he was there, letter would be arriving, box would be arriving and no call for 3 weeks and I barely got in I love you before he hung up.  We are from Omaha, Nebraska.

I am very proud of my son from going from a normal every day life to the unknown.  some really aren't strong enough to do that.  I personally don't like it much but he is an amazing man.

My son left on April 22nd to go to Fort. Hamilton in Brooklyn NY. He flew out of Newark NJ the next morning to the Great Lakes. I received the scripted phone call that night. It's so hard to be strong. He went away for college and it wasn't that hard to deal with. I guess it's the not knowing and silence. I received the box with his belongings on Wed. the waterworks started again. Just waiting for the letter with the graduation date and mailing address. Good luck to all!!

My son just graduated in April. We flew out to see it. Was such a great experience. It is a good thing for these boys and girls. Your recruit will be fine. :)
