OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

To my Red Headed Step Child... from your Evil Step Mom..

To my soldier.. my daughter... my red headded step child.

You are not told enough to buy a beer, but you are old enough to enlist.

You are not old enough to rent a car, but you are old enough to carry a weapon.

You are hardly old enough to see a violent Rated R movie, but you are old enough to see war.

You are just old enough to vote, but you are old enough to die.

I am blessed to live in this country.. AMERICA.. land of Free and home of the Brave.

I can sleep tonight because someone is standing at their post all night long to make sure I am safe.

As a parent sighs of complaint because their child woke them up.. again.

Someone's baby is up all night long.. tired.. no rest.. and without complaint to make sure all of God's children are safe.

As people complain that it's too hot outside and they don't want to leave their Air Conditioned Homes, a soldier is in full gear, in 100+ degrees, carrying a 20 pound sack on his back.. without complaint.

You are a daughter, grand daughter, great grand daughter. You are an aunt, a cousin, a sister. You are a best friend. Thank you for everything.. for some of the best years of my life. I am very proud of you. I love you.

As I watched the videos with your dad about Navy basic training.. a feeling came over me. A sense of Pride and Honor. It made me think of those years way back when I was going though Air Force basic training. I was a part of something strong.. something good. That feeling of Honor and loyality so strong.. I wanted to re-enlist. I didn't realize how bad I missed that...

Corinne, I know you cannot see this. But THANK YOU. Be safe, be confident, be proud. I am.

Love,

Your evil step mom.
