My youngest son left for boot training camp on Feb 11. I got the phone call he was there. I missed the second phone call which made me so upset. I had been waiting for that phone call that I thought was coming to my cell phone but he called the house phone while I was out. He rarely called the house before he left. I think he did not know my nor his dad cell by heart. I wrote him and told him to call my cell only if he gets a chance to call again. I have wrote several letters to him every since I got the address but he has not sent a letter yet. I am really worried since I did not get a chance to talk to him when he called. I dont understand why he has not written me something. This so hard for me. If there are any moms who's son or daughter is on SHIP 03 in DIV 144 I would love to talk with you.

They aren't allowed to write right away, and when they are, it is on Sundays only.  Three weeks is about the correct time frame to get letters, almost there!

It look like your son's PIR date will be PIR: 4/12/2013  click on this and click +JOIN when the page opens up. You'll be in a group with other members with the same PIR date. It sounds like you don't have your FORM letter yet. Be sure to save it when you get that.  Do this ASAP.  You'll be in good company.

Here's a list of upcoming PIR dates. I've included other dates as well for those who read (but don't comment) and are looking for their sons/daughters PIR groups.

PIR: 4/19/2013             TG 23 (to be updated)

PIR: 4/12/2013             TG 22 (to be updated)

Thank you all for your support and I wish the best for you all and your SR. This site is really helpful in so many ways.

Join the group, PIR 04/12/2013 TG 22, to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Know that Divisions 143 and 144 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There is a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

You may also want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups.

He may have been able to write for the first time on Sunday, but it could be that Sunday will be the first time.  See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit for more on that. Phone Cards and Phone Calls will tell you more about phone calls.

My son has been at boot camp nine days, I got the box on Tuesday, but no call. Do They call at night usually and how long can we talk to them when they call? I just sit in his room in the evenings because I feel like I am closer to him there. So difficult and  worry he is going to call when i am at work and I will miss the call. Ugh! What is the area code or number that will show up on caller ID? So very nerve racking...

Daivyonmom how did you get his address if he hasn't written to you? Have I missed something? I am so new at all this.
