Krislix - the forms do say to weigh empty at origin and full at destination. However, our moving truck driver weighed both at the origin and we had no problems getting paid. I'm not sure if it was because the weighing was done by a third party - not us, or if they didn't notice or just didn't care. Look online for weigh stations and if you have trouble finding a weigh station within a reasonable distance of your route at either end of your move, call the personal property office of your…

Krislix - the forms do say to weigh empty at origin and full at destination. However, our moving truck driver weighed both at the origin and we had no problems getting paid. I'm not sure if it was because the weighing was done by a third party - not us, or if they didn't notice or just didn't care. Look online for weigh stations and if you have trouble finding a weigh station within a reasonable distance of your route at either end of your move, call the personal property office of your destination duty station. They are the ones to whom you will submit your claim. Tell them you can't find anything close and see what they recommend you do. But definitely figure it out in advance, you don't want to be getting to your destination and realizing you don't know where to get a weight ticket. Hope that helps!
We just went through a pcs. We just went through a pcs. You weigh the vehicles empty at origin then full at ending destination. I literally said to the woman that it sounded too simple. Just keep the receipts.

Thank you for this overview. Do you know if there are any rules on where you need to weigh the empty and loaded truck? I'm hoping to weigh them both at origin, but wondering if you know about any rules?

Hey Jenn, I know I've talked to you before about this, but we finally have our verbal orders. I'm Goin to set up the counseling as soon as he gets hard copies. Kind of a random question, though, how does the pier diem work? Do we have to save receipts for any/all hotels and food?

My HM Sailor, today will become a HM US Navy Corpsman got his orders to SD, CA, possibly leaving tomorrow. I wonder what is the housing situation there? We would like to rent a house close to the Base, Medical Center, in a relatively safe area, close to the Base and at the reasonable price. Does anyone have any advice in regard to that? I am on his dependent and he initially included me on his DEERS when in BC, GL, IL. I did obtained the health insurance through him. I wonder whether…

I am on his dependent and he initially included me on his DEERS when in BC, GL, IL. I did obtained the health insurance through him. I wonder whether he still has to mention about me right now or is it implied? Are the orders only for him or i must be mentioned as the accompanied orders? How long do you think will take before i could follow to join my husband? I understand he will have to go through training, could i already join him anyway or not? What is living like in SD, CA???? What is a lifestyle there? What is the cost of the food? Is the Commissary well stock with fresh fruits and veggies? How are the people there, friendly? Someone please answer to me with some answers and more, thank you and God Bless You!!!!
ProudMom - Good luck to you a…tag:navyformoms.ning.com,2013-07-05:1971797:Comment:80204962013-07-05T04:47:23.800ZJenn_NicksWifeyhttps://navyformoms.ning.com/profile/JHeart99

ProudMom - Good luck to you and your son, too. We're going through his first deployment as well. He is with the USS Pearl Harbor, which is currently in the South Pacific doing the Pacific Partnership. I'm counting down the days, that's for sure! This forum is a great place to find others to talk to, I hope you are finding good support and opportunities to connect.
