Events

Hi moms, here's a new video from Rear Admiral Robin Braun. Who is she you ask? RDML Braun is our NAVYForMoms.com spokesperson. This site is very near and dear to her heart. She's a mom and served as the Navy as Deputy Commander at Navy Recruiting Command in Millington, TN. She's been in the Navy for 27 years, currently in the Navy Reserve. RDML Braun is a pilot and has flown the Navy's big aircraft like DC-9s and EC-130Qs (for her full background, see the link below). You may see more from her from time to time at events and on the site. Several of our members have had a chance to get to know her. Hopefully, as this site continues to grow and our events spread around the country she'll be able to join in again.

This video is part of a series. Next to come is one dedicated to A/C School. Hopefully, it will give you some insight so you'll know what your Sailors can expect in their next training position. Look for a poll to hit the site in the next few months. We'll be asking you for additional video topics.

Here is her bio on Navy.mil

Sorry, I did not know where to go--- I have been a member since Dec08 and every day I was getting 60-100- notifications that I had e-mails from the groups I belong to---about 3 days ago I have not received one notification, has there been a change I am not aware of? I can still get into my groups and send comments, I just don't get notified that there messages waiting for me to read. Thank you for your help.

I wish I would've known about this site long ago. I also wish I would have seen this video before my daughter went to MEPS. I would have known exactly what processes would go on there. This was a good video that spoke to us as mothers with sensitivity. Thank you

I HOPE MY DAUGHTER DOES MAKE A CAREER IN THE NAVY IT HAS A LOT TO OFFER WHEN AROUND HERE WITH JOBS SO HARD TO GET IT'S HARD SEEING HER FRIENDS STRUGGLE WITH COLLEGE AND WORK THESE DAYS AND HER BROTHERS AND OLDER SISTER ARE STABLE I JUST WANT THAT FOR HER WHEN SHE'S OLDER SO EVEN THOUGH IT'S HARD TO LET GO OF MY BABY I KNOW THIS FOR THE BEST. SHE IS A SKSR AT THIS POINT STATIONED IN HAWAII ON THE O'KANE OUT TO SEA NOW FOR A WEEK OR SO, BUT WE STAY IN CONTACT VIA EMAIL.

The video is very informative. It great to know that you are currently station so close to me. I work in Arlington TN. I would love to attend some of the local events that you may presenting and/or attending. My son is in his second week of bootcamp. This site has provided a wealth of information to me and thus made this process easier.

Great video Admiral Braun...I wish I had known about this site when my son enlisted 3 years ago, but it is very helpful. Thanks for doing it. :-)

Admiral Braun, thank you for taking the time to make the video. It helps to know that my son will be ok.

Admiral Braun - there seems to be some confusion with us Navy Mom's about Grad & Go. If the Graduation Brochure you received from your recruit states in it that "Recruits in this division are scheduled to leave RTC for their next training command on the day of graduation", does this really mean they are Grad & Go or is this a generic message written in all brochures? Thanks, Joy
