Son just started OCS in Rhode Island, anyone else?

My son just started OCS training 7/5. One hour after he arrived I missed a call from him :( (I heard they get one 5 minute call and I picked mine up too late) I got a text right after saying he was sending me his address yet it never came through. Anyone know if they get to text it to us that first day or if he means it's getting mailed? Still bumming I missed that last call. And I'm dying to get a letter off to him.

I found the website with the OCS address, the only thing I don't have is a class number - I'm searching all over FB etc and can't figure out what he would be. Is there any way to get this so I can start sending letters?

My son was at ODS last month - same base, different program.  I waited to hear from him as to the address, ODS has a "company name" as opposed to a class number.  However, I would bet he would receive a letter based on his name in the system.  I know my son received mail forwarded after ODS to him at UVa rather quickly, so they must have a reliable system at Newport!

As luck would have it the FB page you all directed me to gave me the answer I needed. My first letter is on it's way! Thanks, everyone!

I received my sons letter about a week and a half after he arrived.  It will be a form letter with the exact address and his graduation date.  Still waiting for my first "written" letter from him.

rjandme, If your son is in boot camp, that is different from OCS (Officer Candidate School).

Im new to the Navy. My son just began OCS in Newport, RI on July 5th, then will go onto Pensecola, FL for flight training (I'm a wreck about that!) I received a text from him that he made it & text me a pic of the address.
