I hope he gets to see as much as he is looking forward to. I think I would be making a turkey dinner while he was there so to see turkey at the same time as him. HeeHee

It is pretty amazing that it's been almost a year for us all. So glad we've got each other to keep up on what is going on with our PIR mates.

Our sailors are now in Turkey!  They are having nice weather.  My son is going to take advantage of one of the really interesting tours.  He is very interested in history - this should be a good tour.  Last year this time he was getting ready to go to Boot Camp and now he is in Turkey - Wow - he sure is getting to see the world.

Kim and Judy: I'm just adding "friends" the the "sailor's home" fb page I created and so far have friends/family in Seattle, L.A., Warrenton/Missouri, NYC. I give my email address as a contact and figure I can be a contact person. But if anyone wants to add themselves or any information, please feel free. There is already at least one site like this, for sailors during travels across the U.S. Can't hurt to keep a network for our guys/girls, for any support needed. Just an idea.... :)

Hi Judy....long time, no see...where one door closes, another one opens and that is what happened - he is currently underway for 3 months to 27 different ports around South America

Kim and Janis - Thanks for your info - he is on the USS Gunston Hall and I don't know if they are with any others...someone on the TN group just recommended the family readiness group to me.  I had never even heard of that, so I just requested to be added to that.  Apparently, they update you on everything you need to know.  Thanks for the tip on SW.  His ship is a 'little' ship (like 200 full time) and so I just guess there aren't alot of moms???  I may check out your ship and see what you all are talking about!  Isn't it crazy to see what our concerns were a year ago as compared to what they are now?  But we all grow and mature...
