Hey Brenda and all.  This morning I got an email from Abigail.  Apparently she has been shopping and riding an elephant.  The first day on land she said she was pushed by a monkey and said "he was sooo cute".  She's hoping to call me at their next port.  Meanwhile, she's working on pictures to send home on CD's...  Can't wait for that!  I'll share of course.

If anyone is interested in seeing what our sailors are participating in, last year's annual exercises were featured on FOX and on You Tube.  This is of 2010 and not 2011.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPSQikWnZv0  (There are other videos from previous exercises that you can see on YT.) Somewhere I read that our ships are 3 miles off shore and the (Marines) AAV's travel the distance to shore. It is a multi national participatory exercise of approx 11,000. So, while we're all watching the Super Bowl, this is the type of exercises that they started.  Isn't it very exciting?

PS  They Finally received mail!

Abigail says in an email:

Ok, all we see is amazingly blue water and it feels like a hot spring in Florida.  It's so pretty=]

Abigail wrote on FB about replenishment picture taken on Jan. 31st.:

"HAHA!! That's huge 4000-5000 lb cargo boxes that the Marines brought with them, also 7 ton trucks, humvies, forklifts, the works in other words ^_^ I love walking through them. I feel like I'm in a maze hehe"

Hover and open the picture below, then you can use the magnifier to see if there's anyone you can recognize. Good Luck. (Personally, I cannot see that far.)

They have a lot of "stuff" on the center and aircraft decks!!

Happy to hear we're finally getting contact!  You can always count on McDonalds!

I finally received a reply, short but sweet, "I appreciate it hopefully I'll get it 2 ports from now -.-... lol"

Now WHAT does that mean?  They must be on the move again or will be?  I guess it's not my job to keep up.  De-stress!
