Hi to everyone, its been since Dec. I think that I was in our group I hadnt seen much writting and I was checking some other groups like jerseytina said im in New Jersey Group Tina we are having a Get Together April 10 th hope to see you there. Jersey Group on and off I check plus sometimes in my sons field ET group but always in heart with PIR 10 8 2010 plus I keep in touch often often with JenShip10,Mom2NW and Mommyto4boyz and some of the other ladies I met at G&M but since beginning of year ive been having alot  alot of medical stuff going on and I havent been on that often anywhere.I did find a group called EMPTYNESTERS and I wrote this next entry on March 5th to a comment someone had made in that group about how great Navy 4 Moms is so that they would know How Great WE Really Are and How Navy Moms really stick together .The same way that Mom2NW send a Bday card to my son and she offered to give him a ride to Milwaukee Airport and how Jen keeps in touch with Me to see how Im feeling and how things are even calling at times and Our bonds as Navy Moms keep getting stronger as time passes Im so happy to have found this website and I hope to continue as we all become little old ladies and sharing our Sailors Stories even after they are done with their Navy Commitments. So next you'll see what I wrote about one of Our Special Navy Moms and I Thank Her Very Much With All My Heart, I only wish I could someday do the same for her. Thanks Mommyto4Boyz Luv ya

Hello all!  You're welcome - it's been too long since I've written much of anything, so thought I'd share.  And yes, we've all become family, I too think it's safe to say it's a mutual feeling we can all share :-)

Guess what?!?  We're going to get our Sailor from Ohare tonight!!!  Yay!!!

Kellig & mom2 - so glad to hear your Sailors are happy w/ thier decisions!  You're right, it sure makes it easi - er!!   If our computer at home ever gets fixed - I promise to post some pics!    Have an awesome day!! Love  ~ jen

ps - anyone hear from Maria lately?!

Thanks Jen for the poem!!  It does capture what is going on in our hearts...
Comment by kellig on March 7, 2011 at 11:25pm

Jen, I envy your creativity, the poem is awesome.

Nathan reported last week to Stennis Space Station in MS and is in the barracks at Gulfport, maybe he will run into a few boot camp mates!

He too is happy with his decision and that sure makes it easier (not easy, just easier).

Comment by mom2nw on March 7, 2011 at 3:46pm

Jen, the poem really captures what we've all probably gone through this past 6 months or so!  Thank you so much for sharing.

My son is finishing up his combat training soon and will be stationed in Gulfport, MS.  He is a Seabee and will most likely never be on a ship.  He's loving what he's doing right now, for which I am very thankful.  He would like to get out and see the world, I'm sure.  Where he goes from here, though, yes, only Ma Navy knows.

Its great hearing from everyone and what their sailors are doing.

ps Mommy enjoy your last day at GL!

He's off to Bremerton, WA - says he'll be joining a carrier that is scheduled to leave, but don't have any other details now. Ma Navy trumps Mom again :-)

Karen, Cindy & mommy - it's great to hear from you! Mommy - that is so awesome that you were able to give "D" that hug from his momma! Thank you for sharing!

SimplyRJB: Now I see what message you were referring to.. :-)

Doing OK - here's a little something I wrote last week, thought I'd share w/ my friends...

Today I miss my Sailor, my tears I try to hide

If only I could hold him, have him at my side

But I'm a Navy mom, and strong I have to be

Weather he be home, ashore, or out to sea

I pray my job was done well, and he knows in his heart

I'm proud that he's my son, and that I'll do my part

Today my mind is filled, with thoughts of all our fleet

So proudly as they serve, and my heart skips a beat

He grows each day I know, into a greater man

I'm entrusting him to God, to fill a greater plan

The Lord he knows us both, and faithfully will keep

My Sailor close to me, until I'm off to sleep

so while I cannot hold him, my Sailor now he serves

I'll keep the watch and duty, and try to calm my nerves

Today I miss my Sailor, and while I am so proud

The silence with him gone, rings in my ears so loud

To hear his voice I'd run, to hold him close I'd fall

I hope again today, I'll get that precious call

Until the Lord sees fit, to bring him home to me

A NavyStrong Momma, is what I'll have to be

Hi everyone.  Good to hear from you.  Justin is still at Great Lakes.  He just finished ATT school and started A school this past Monday.  Don't know how long he will be there but I think it will be several months.  Then off to C School someplace.  He is an ET.  He got to come home for Christmas - 2 weeks.  Sure enjoyed having him here but the time just flew by.  He is still happy with the Navy and is enjoying Chicago.  Hope everyone is well and hope to hear from you all from time to time.
