For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

As for GPS while in GC...I am old school and dont have that on my phone...While my son was with us with his phone we got everywhere much much quicker!!

OH...just heard he got an "outstanding" on a room check while he was out sweeping....2nd outstanding apparently....why doesn't that happen in his room at home??

I have been doing chocolates for over 30 years and hubby and I even had a retail chocolate shoppe in 2008, though we have closed it since. It was fun, hand made all that we sold. I just started doing cake pops a few weeks ago and it has been a blast. I have two orders this upcoming week, a birthday party tomorrow so it has been keeping me busy. They are a wonderful addition to any party! My son got married in December and I did the wedding cake, cupcakes and a chocolate table. Friend me and you can see it on my page here. Comment by Sherri_M on May 27, 2011 at 8:27pm: Congrats to all graduating today!!!!! Yay! I can't wait for mine to graduate Power! He made a very good grade on last test and was thrilled!! Amazing how the grades improve with no internet/skype/xbox live!!!! I'm hoping he keeps it up! next test is in 2 weeks and it's physics 2..i told him to study, study, study! He's never had any advanced classes like these..our HS was just too small....he barely touched pre-calculus (really it was more of an advanced algebra with trig class)...and a VERY LAID back Chem 2 class---if they showed up, they got an A....he's very good with math and science though and can catch on quick, if he pays attention! I'm hoping he does!

@ sharon-diegos mom- so do you do cake pop arrangements i guess???? that is cool! My future DIL wants them in addition to a wedding cake cause she thinks they are sooooooo cute!!!! Trying to find someone to do a wedding cake and stuff around here is not so easy!

Busy, Busy on my end, just stopped in real quick! Received another Cake Pop arrangement order for Tuesday so you know what I am doing over the weekend!!! Birthday order due tomorrow, pops are chilling in the fridge right now. I will check in when I can..................HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL!!!!!

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on May 27, 2011 at 2:11pm: Penny, my son just told me yesterday that in order to get into the ELT they have to be in the top 50% of their class in A school and in Power School. i don't know after that what the selection process is. Maybe your son already knows or can find out soon.

Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on May 27, 2011 at 2:04pm: Hi Mary, thanks for the info about the ankle. I just don't know. It is hard for me to try to help in any way. I tell my son things, and he either doesn't ask questions, or just has to sit back and go with the flow and follow the procedures until the Navy decides that there is more to his injury. This is what I hate, they delay everything so long, with procedure, that he could have been better a long time ago. if they had put him in therapy right away when he sprained it, that may have helped, but instead he didn't get therapy until after two sprains, ER, and finally medical saying they couldn't help him, which they didn't do anything for him anyway. it seems like the Navy Physical Therapist knows something, but now he has to go through the motions of getting therapy first, then see what happens after that. Kind of frustrating.

TN Navy Mom~My son also has extra PT. He has said that the PT at GC is actually a lot harder and stricter than boot camp!
