Well here we go, onto a BIG adventure. We are doing the USS Nimitz, this is an Aircraft Carrier. I have been working with the CMC the past couple weeks and we have worked the bugs out and now we are ready to go.  This project will take 3-4 months to complete so there is no rush or stress on us to get it all down fast.

This ship will be done by departments, ALL boxes for that department have a contact which I will give you to ship with when needed. As the number come in and the PC's go out you will see the list change and the shipped will be removed to make room for new ones.

Please make sure that you stick to the count and which department you are listed for so that everyone get at pc. ALL boxed MUST have the HAE sticker on them by the address label, You must email ME at mepeller@bellsouth.net or Sue to get the addresses.

week 1- 5/25- 5/30 will start the shipping. We will try and ship every week or every 2 weeks.

Lyn Love andI will be doing all the command, and POC pillowcases and helping with the ship numbers

Wave 4 is done and that brings us to 4.037 sent so far.   Wave 5 beings on Friday!  We are on the home stretch!

1 more, but I don't see it in the photos that I have:

Good Morning,

My name is Sgt. Narez and I am currently deployed supporting operations in Afghanistan. My squadron VMFA 323 “The Death Rattlers” recently received a package of the pillow cases. Everyone in my division took one some of the guys even took the ones they bought and threw them away to use the ones you had made. I personally have the green one with trains along the bottom. My daughter likes green and when I was a kid I loved trains so that’s why I picked that one. So from the Ordnance Marines of VMFA-323 I would just like to say thank you for giving a little slice of home.

Sincerely,

Sgt. Narez

This came this morning, what a blessing.

Ms. Peller,

I just wanted to send you an email to thank you for the wonderful pillowcase that you made. We received a box a few days ago, during mail call onboard the USS Nimitz, which your pillowcase, and probably 40 others, were in. We opened that box and tore through those pillowcases like it was Christmas. It’s nice to know that we’re not forgotten about out here. Thank you very much for your time, it’s greatly appreciated.

wonderful note.  that's why I call the pcs a permanent  hug!  every time they sleep they will know that someone in America remembers them!

Good morning Sir/Ma’am,

I am Andrew  from the USS Nimitz and I have just received the most beautiful pillow case today through your organization. I cannot express or define the looks on our Sailors faces when the package was opened up to see that we had received a gift from someone that we do not know. While being deployed it is so easy for us (Sailors and Marines) to forget why we are here. Sometimes it feels as if every day is the same over and over again and eventually we could find ourselves thinking that no one knows or cares about what we do. The list could go on and on about all the doubts and negative thoughts that could occur but that all ceased when your package arrived. My division consists of 50+ personnel and it was complete silence as the package was presented to us and the looks of curiosity was at its highest  until the first pillow case was extracted. From that point cheering erupted and it felt like it was a holiday or celebration at the time. From everything that we have here, I would for everyone who contributed to the making of the pillow cases to know that your work is greatly appreciated and we thank you tremendously from the bottom of our hearts.

Very Respectfully,

LS1 Andrew  xxxxx

I love it when they say a name:

Dear all,

I am CS1 Bxxx stationed on board the USS Nimitz currently on deployment in the Persian Gulf and we have received numerous boxes of your hand made pillow cases. I would just like to send my greatest thanks to everyone who helped put such a wonderful idea together. My shipmates and I have thoroughly enjoyed the use of the pillow cases, I know I have a nice royal blue pillow case that puts my head at ease every night when I am finally able to get to sleep. Please send my regards to all of those that participated and especially Ginnie Carrolla who made the pillow case that I am currently enjoying.

Thanks again to all.

V/R,

CS1(SW/AW) Charles

love to hear from our POC for each group that we have mailed to.  I have a special place in my heart for the squadrons as my son served in one:

Dear Ray and Sue,

I received your message and news article in one of the packages of
pillow cases.  You have an amazing story! I am so proud to be in your
service, it is Americans such as you and those that assist you with your
organization that make what we have to do day in and day out so worth it.  I
received all the pillow cases and have begun to hand them out to our young
Sailors; you should see the looks of amazement and happiness! It is truly
heartwarming to see.  Thank you so much for what you do and all the support
you freely give to your Armed Forces.  Please also give your son my thanks
for his service and contribution to the defense of our great nation.

Very Respectfully,

Dave

from me:

from Pat T:

These are the pcs that I did for the Command staff of the Nimitz. I didn't show the other side because they contain their names.

Wanted to share this. I was sewing this morning and took a break to get my mail. This is what I found. WOW what a way to start my weekend! This will keep me going for sometime.

Dana, what wonderful notes to you!   Are you taking tiger cruise?  You might meet some of these sailors and that would be awesome!

Lyn, the pcs look great, as I knew they would.  Thanks for doing all of that.  love the frontal view of the planes.

I've seen them land on the Lincoln and they look just like that.

Yes, going on the Tiger Cruise.

Recieved this today

Dear Maryellen,
Thank you so much for the wonderful pillowcase that I was surprised with today! We just left a port visit in the very hot city of Manama, Bahrain after a few days of liberty and it honestly made me feel very blessed to be from such a great country. (There is no other place on this planet like the USA!) Then today I was handed the personalized pillowcase that you made for me and it made me feel so honored to be out here serving great folks like yourself and all the Navy Moms that are part of Heads at Ease. I have personally seen so many of my Sailors and Officers eyes light up when they receive one of your pillowcases. It really makes deployment and our long days bearable.
I have attached a couple of photos of the pillowcase already on my rack in my stateroom! Makes the ship grey much brighter!!
Thank you so much again and everything you do for our service members.

Sincerely,
