Hi Emily Anne! You are going to love Guam. I have no idea about the move there as a family since my son just had to worry about himself. LivNLrn would be a good one to answer your question because she has lived on Guam with her husband. Welcome to our group!!

ktssong, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Your whole family and especially your son will be in my prayers.

I am on a countdown to when my sailor comes home. 1 month and I get to hug him :)

Ktssong, I am very sorry to hear of you and your family's loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Just after my son left for Guam, a good friend of mine at work lost her 20 yr old son-in-law in Afghanistan, and the whole experience is so very sad, the loss of young life is never easy. Hang in there, and be strong for your family.

ktssong, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and prayers your way.  Did you contact the red cross?  Even if he can't get home then his command would know the situation and help him if he needs it.

Today was a rough day.  My son in laws brother is only 26 died today and was one of the friends of my son who is serving.  We are all pretty drained from the day and then worrying how he is coping with the information.  He didn't say much to his wife but his brother said he was pretty broken up.  So I'm hoping he seeks a Chaplain out for ways to process it.  It has to be hard when you aren't home to grieve with everyone but I'm hoping they have gone over ways to deal with deaths from afar.  Keep him in prayer today and my son in laws family too.

Hi Guam moms! My husband will soon be stationed in Guam so we are beginning to plan our move there. We are looking to talk to someone about their experience moving not only themselves but their pets. We are familiar with the quarantine rules, but we were wondering if anyone had any more information or personal experiences that could help us.

Thank you!!

Do any of you happen to be in Arizona? The Phx/Glendale area?

ktssong, I did not activate my sons Subway card, I don't think they need activating. My goal today is to go get him a gift card and get it in the mail along with a card for Veterans day. He is in the process of trying to buy a new car over there and is very frustrated :(. He has no credit and the interest if going to be high and he needs a co-signer.

I hope everyone had a good week!

LMD, I'm in Cincinnati, Home of the Reds.  I live in outskirts close to Kings Island Amusement Park area in Mason.

I just went to Subway to buy a gift card for my son to use at the Subway at the Nex.  Someone on here informed us that Subway gift cards work over there too so I have a question, do you know if I need to activate online here so he can use it or let him???  I don't want it to get over there and not work because he can't activate it.
