My daughter is currently in A school but they are on hold. I was wondering if they can come home during holiday weekends for example Columbus Day. She is still in phase 1 I am hoping that by then she has moved up in phase. Do they allow them to come home for a weekend or they have to make special requests? Anyone has any idea on how this works..
thanks for the tips:) Is there an os page on facebook as well, I f you know can you please send me the link
nancyf-since they can have phones and laptops communication will be much better-they can start receiving care packages of goodies too. After a few weeks they can start wearing civilian cloths and explore the Chicago area. They will live a dorm type setting. Wish her well. Mine went t japan for two years and is now in Norfolk.
Hi, my daughter will have PIR in 2 weeks. She will be going to school for OS. We also have a son in the navy, he I'd deployed on the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH right now. I can't wait to see my daughter.
Hang in there Becca! Get to know this site and all the wonderful people and groups on it. Did you join bootcamp moms, if not you should, lots of great info and moms going through the same thoughts as you.
I am a WRECK! I sent my son off on July 8 and I just miss him so much.
Hi Laurie 1029 Ship 13 dive 183 PIR5/30, Sorry it took so long for me to respond to you, i was on vacation. About A school in GL. You will have extra time with him since he will not be leaving so that is good. He will leave after graduation to check into his A school, this may take a few hours, we went to IHOP and when he called we picked him up and did some errands and stuff. About bring his personal things that is fine, but it take take up to a month for them to phase up so don't bring any of his civilian clothes. He will let you know when you can send them. He really likes it there and it is nice that we get to skype with him on the weekends. They have to do watch duty and other things there also, they keep them busy. The school is really nice, i was there in the winter so it was covered with snow, but it was nice. There is a movie theater on campus, lots of places to eat, a bowling alley, the nex, etc. You can private messasge me if you want any other info. Oh he is going to Norfolk, VA
