~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

KierstinsMom, They will pull her out of the computer with a grad date as she has been put into FIT at this point. It remains the same in holding off as long as you can on cancelling anything

KierstinsMom. I am not sure about this but I thought I had read that they could try again up until battleship and then if they pass do battleship. Try searching it. Saying a prayer for you and your daughter.

Just wondering how many times do the SR's have to pass their PFA's?

Comment by programs ship 11 division 154 on April 16, 2014 at 7:21pm

KierstinsMom,  keep your head up, you are not alone, we are here to support you.  You are right to stay positive this is just a delay. Kierstin WILL still be a SAILOR and that is the real end game.  Prayers and hugs, we feel and share your heartache. The young lady that got my daughter to join the navy went in a few weeks before her. My daughter wrote me in one of her letters talking about her friend was leading her div. and how proud she was of her, she couldn't say anything to her friend. Well to make a long story short that young lady came by my house 2 weeks ago and I thought she graduated. She told me that she was discharged in the 6th week because she couldn't pass the PFA they said she had asthma and sent her home immediately.  SHe was devastated. She talked about how hard she worked and all the accomplishments she made.  She called me yesterday and told me she was enrolling in the technical college to take up nursing and she feels better and she said it was GODS plan not hers that she didn't make it.  This is coming from an 18yr old.  So take comfort in  knowing Kierstin still has a chance, all is not lost.  Praying all will work out. Hugs from SC.

Chances look slim for her to stay on track... email from her recruiter "... Also the Graduation Date for your daughter has been removed from the Web Site that we have.  Which means she is not graduating and likely to get rolled back a couple of weeks. "    :_(

Thanks, Everyone!!   I'm now trying to look at the bright side of things.  It's not that she's being told to pack her bag and get out.  Just a delay in the process.  She'll be fine!  Good advice ellen0502.  We'll hold off as long as possible.  I found a contact form to fill out for the Recruit Training Center for Great Lakes and sent them an email with my questions.  Just have to wait and see!!!  Thanks you again.  Feeling better!!

Kierstinsmom, I would hold off on cancelling anything as long as possible. Your daughter has been put in FIT and should have at least one if not two more shots at passing her PFA before PIR next week.

They have in the past been able to try again on at least the Friday and the Monday before PIR, and then run BS with another division. You can call the PAO next Wednesday and ask if your daughter is back on track to graduate on Friday. They can only give you a yes or no, and not much else, but that will at least be a firm answer.
