~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning ladies! I haven't piped up much but have read all of the conversations, each and every day :) your comments have kept me aware of what is going on and the comments about letters and phone calls etc...are consistent from what I have heard from my son. He has figured out how to write to me in a journal format and I get one letter a week with a recap of the week - he is growing and thriving. This week he wrote about his brother division (154) being "flagged" which meant they could march independently...he said "the chief led us in cadence, we were singing, it was sunny; we had conquered our biggest obstacle, and there were geese waddling around (I haven't seen animals in ages and it was a very nice touch) I don't think I've ever felt such an immense amount of joy like that, ever." Wow...Anyways, I fly into Chicago at zero dark thirty on Thursday/Friday morning so I won't be at any meet and greats. I am attending with my dad, a retired USAF colonel who will be in uniform at PIR, so maybe you'll be able to pick us out of the crowd :) I'd love to meet you if it happens. Sending my best ladies - your sailor recruits are blessed because of you! Thank you for your posts xo -Krista

Good Morning!

Yes, that is possible, Tuttimimi.  I know that they are suppose to call by BattleStations day.  Pray for no calls until after BattleStations!  :-)  Unless someone is allowed a call just to talk this weekend after Captains Cup, which is Saturday morning for this PIR group. Fun athletic competition for them!

Thank you diannep

So Diannep does that mean they may have not passed yesterday or today and would not have called because they can try again before battleship?

Lizziebear I could be off a day. Her letter sounded that way but who knows. Just so happy to hear she is happy and yes she is with your husband
Comment by diannep on April 16, 2014 at 11:20pm

Traysea:  They must pass the 3rd and final PFA in order to go to BattleStations, and become sailors.

153/154 should be doing BattleStations next week, so for sure their final PFA is happening about this time....if they don't pass it, they will call you by their BattleStations day.

Momoffour, that's what I was thinking if it was today I haven't got a call so I happy.
Comment by momoffour (Ship 11 Div 153) on April 16, 2014 at 11:10pm

Lizziebear and tuttismimi as long as it was yesterday or today I am happy.  I got the sadest heart wrenching letter last week from being sick my son was behind in pushups.  I have not received a call that he did not pass PFA don't want to get my hopes up if they have not took the PFA yet I was told I would get a call immediately if he did not pass.

Comment by Lainey on April 16, 2014 at 10:59pm
I know my son is in Div 156 and he started 6-1 today..his new week always start on Wednesdays..so I wonder when their PFA is? I thought they did Gas Chamber during week 5 along with fire fighting ??
Comment by Lizzie_Corpsmanwife on April 16, 2014 at 10:51pm
Tuttsimimi that actually doesn't sound right. They are day 2 of week 6 today because 6-1 was yesterday :/ my husband told me that they will have final PFA yesterday. Is she in my husbands division? 153 &154 are actually brother divisions so they should always start a new week on Tuesdays.
