oh and I forgot to mention, we already had him exchange US for some Yen as well as get an international phone and he has been working with his mentor from the ship in Japan...I am sooooooooooo confused as is he.

Talk about crazy whirlwind....My Sailor finished his 2nd C school (NEC schools) and has his hard orders in hand to report into Sasebo on the USS Denver finally on 4/21/14.  So he took leave and is home seeing his brother who had the stroke (not going or doing good)....then out of nowhere a phonecall to my Sailor came in and said he is no longer heading to Japan since the Denver is set to decom before Sept.  He was told to pick now San Diego or Norfolk and wait for further instructions.  He picked SD, and has called daily trying to get info and orders with his detailer's from C school....no one knows a thing and here he sits.  Leave is up as of 4/18, he has no new orders, and no one is telling him what is happening.  I silently am happy he is not leaving the country, but this is truly a mess.  My older Son that had the stroke is having surgery tomorrow, just so much chaos and nothing makes sense right now.  I suppose I no longer belong in this group since despite having hard orders in hand with a new command and ship, my Sailor is not headed for Japan now???  Lord I have a FULL plate

Ok - I was not done talking here. BUt I did not want to go through that not being able to post because I had too many letters again.

Yes, we got up at 2:30 AM - went outside to view the eclispe. Amazing !!!!! Yes, it was maroon red at times. Then pinkish. I am so glad we decided to get up and see this.

Only gossip for me to share is about my cub scout kids. this week they have been sweet and hyper. but have they ever enjoyed the science experiement. They each are given a    gummy worm and have to measure each time they stretch it. They are to see how many times and how many inches they can stretch those gummy worms before they break. Naturally, they get to eat those worms when they break. Can those boys pull and stretch those worms!

Need to get going.  Have a great evening.'

Gee- I think I forgot to mentions something  hugs

HI

Well, trying to get my mind to think, but after seeing the pic Barb sent - its not my house that is on fire.

Welcome aboard new Moms!!!!! As stated hang on tight for your emotional roller coaster ride. Promise we are beside you.  Do hope your two boys meet up. And only thing I can add - actually it is more nagging - if they do not have their pass ports - help them get it. And when you can purchase long johns here in the states - buy three sets to send to your sons. Then get back here and share more.

Gee- so cat people are a different kind of folk. would not have thought that at all of you Anti M and Maggs.  And I have to share your training of NOT to be on the counters Anti M. It will be noisy, but worth it.

Glad Angel is doing better after her shot. I agree - go buy the bunnies. If you didn't then they would sit there and complain that you forgot.

I had a bad rash too. It would burn like firs at times. I would put vinegar on mine. that would help. I finally had to go to a skin doc. The only thing that stopped that rash / blisters was to burn off the blisters.  He would use liquid oxygen - just like getting rid of a wart.  It was the only thing that worked. Today I am finally  with normal skin. I do hope you do not have to go that route.

Oh a Navy  Mom getting hugs !!!!!!  Yippee Huskiee !!!!!!

Blondie - Conor looks like he is winking . Fingers cross that things go better for Conor's mom too. Love and congrats to the new Captain. And as I said your house sounds just lived in - not a mess.

I would jump for joy if I got a text pic of my sailor. RElly nice for him to think of you .

We talked to our son about 12am our time MST.  He was really upbeat, which was good after such a long flight.

He said the texting seemed a bit complicated at this time, so we'll stick to skype and email.

Thetribemom - Hope everything goes well for your son.

Japan seems like a great place to be stationed with a lot of opportunities!

Enjoy all the comments and pictures!

Well, home for a few days off and going at the cleaning-the sun is very bright, so I can "see" the dirt, ha ha.
Anyone get to see the lunar eclipse of the blood red moon? Did it glow reddish?  Rained here so missed the opportunity to get up at 3 a.m. to view it:)

Drama, so excited for you!  Enjoy your time:))

Missmom, glad for improving family health.

TLynn, anything special? I wish. The fun will be Sunday when the grandbabies come for brunch.

Mom2Bryan-that is a awesome photo! I would sure smile:))) Nice that he is having a great time and thinking of you.

Welcome & hugs all new moms and those sending sailors off to Japan.  It will be a roller coaster of emotions, so hang on and come on here and say whatever is on your mind.
It will help immensely.
