Hi mygirlsrock, My daughter Sam leaves for BC June 18 also. We are from Hoover,Al. and her job is AG. We are excited and very nervous- she will graduate from HS May so that will leave us only 1 month before she ships out.

Hi blond305 I know what you mean as my daughter also graduates HS this year and ships out a few weeks later.  Luckily for me she joined DEP last summer so I've had lots of time to get used to the idea.  She just reminded me tonight that today is exactly 2 months until she ships.  It will be here before we know it!  I know I will be boohooing up a storm when the time comes but I'm so excited for her!

My daughter joined DEP last summer also. She wanted to join at the end of May but her father and I still needed to get a few more answers about the Navy. I took her, a friend of hers and my older daughter to Washington DC and Virginia for vacation the first of June and told her her to think hard and get as much info as she could about the Navy for Women. We finally gave her our blessings and she signed up in July. We have talked about her leaving in June so many times and what to expect but last week I think a ROCK named NAVY finally hit me. I broke down and cried twice in one day.

My daughter leaves on June 18th too!

I'm glad I'm seeing quite a few daughters going to BC  June 18, my daughter is hoping to see at least a couple of girls when she leaves and that way she wont be so alone going to airport and the flight to GL.

When she went to MEPS to sign up the roommate she had spent her time with her boyfriend so she called us and her friend to talk but still had to eat alone.

My son leaves for bootcamp on June 18th as well. He's definitely ready.

Son leaving for BC on the 18th, Nuke also!

My son has MEPS 17th and leaves for BC the 18th also. The giving roots to our kids is so much easier than giving them wings. ; )

My daughter will be leaving on the 18th, also. Wishing all future sailors a Good Journey!

My son left yesterday for boot camp yesterday!  What an emotional ride this is already!  Thinking of you all that are going through the same process.  A bit overwhelming!

Check your My Page.

My daughter was scheduled to leave for BC June 18th.  Her flight was delayed, then many hours later canceled due to poor weather.  She tried to fly out the following day...again, same thing, flight delayed, after eight hours, canceled.  She finally flew out on Friday, the 20th...I am waiting anxiously to hear something... Her recruiter gave us an address, I mailed out a letter, but after reading some info online, I've learned that the recruiter's info is not always correct.  I do hope she receives my letter, and that we hear something soon.
