Hi girls,

I just needed to share about my girl with you veteran moms, as I know you will "get it."

My daughter is a nuke in A school in Charleston.  It is hard and has been stressful for her at times, even with her brother down there with her.  Class wise, she has been doing pretty well, thankfully.  However, she has been struggling with severe shin splints.  She passed her latest PFA before graduating, but was in terrible pain by the end of her run.  She went to the dr on base, and he told her to take IB, ice and rest her legs.  Tonight when I talked to her, I found out she and the rest of her class will all have to run again on Monday, due to one of her classmates failing the original run.  Her SLPO told them he will count this one, and if they don't pass, they will not rank up.  :-(  She is also supposed to take her comps on Monday...

I admit it--I am worried sick about her.  She is like the poster child for Murphy's Law!  And we have just started this journey!  Help!

Anna, I wonder if it was my aunt. She lives there. I loved Wisconsin when I was there. It was back 4 years ago when Christina got out of boot camp. It was about this time, in April. I'm glad it gave you a smile.

Catsmom,

Congratulations on making it to Norfolk!!!  Now don't paint all the town red, leave some for me!!!  I'll be there next Friday!!!!can't wait to see those pictures.  And I hope you get some nice ones during her reenlistment!!!!

Blondie,

Good news you get to spend some time with your daughter!!!  Those little surprises are always so nice!!  Enjoy!!

Jean,

And how cool that the SIL gets to come for a visit this weekend!!!  I know your daughter has to be happy about that and happy daughter makes happy Momma!!!!  Enjoy some time to visit with him this weekend!!!  I saw something today that made me smile and think of you.  Driving home and stopped at a traffic light behind a car with a different license plate - then I immediately recognized it as a WA plate and the plate frame was from Seattle!!!!!  I asked them what the heck they were doing in Wisconsin but they didn't hear me!!!!!!

Such happy news from so many of you.

Catherine called me to tell me she was nominated by her classmates to compete in the Civic Engagement Public Speaking Contest.  I don't really understand what her speech was in (which is why SHE is the Penn State student and I am not!!!).  It was a wonderful experience, but she did not win!!!

Blm,

If you're out there - how are the wedding plans going?  I'm having some challenges trying to handle things by phone only.  Can't get people to get back in touch with me like they say they will!!!
