DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

They will have him call you if he has not passed before battle stations. And even if he has not passed by then and calls and tells you not to come don't cancel your plans yet. He can keep trying to pass every other day until PIR and he can even do BS with a different division and may still graduate on time. They will work with him and do what they can to help. They want him to pass :) If he does make that call, tell him to keep trying, you know he can do and you will be there. Tell him to set a pace with someone he knows will pass it. He and you are in my thoughts and prayers :)

Good morning all. So stressed. I received a letter from my son(Div 149)on Wed. He said he was still short 1 min on the run and had to pass it this past Monday or be sent back. I haven't heard a thing. No calls. I've bitten off my nails and have a new crop of Bootcamp grays popping in. Do they always call before Battlestations if they fail?

Expecting calls this afternoon, after 2pm Central, from 149-152...we think!  Keep those phones close!  New sailors may be calling!

PeaCoatMama thanks a million. The best way of handling any conflict is just to not let it get me down and see that I'll be hugging my bear (his nickname) in 6 days. Also, we both don't have to prove to his parents anything, were best friends who will be having a massage Friday lol. He hurt his back :( so he asked for a massage with me, booked at Massage envy :)

Tuttismimi:  It is wise to let your new sailor decide what he/she wants to do after PIR.  Some just want to go back to the hotel room, take a nice long shower with no shipmates beside them  :-), rest, use their cellphone/laptop (that you may have brought to them!) and relax.  Others want to get out and see the sights!  Some want to do both!  So just play it by ear....

Lizziebear...I just have to tell you how much I appreciate your positivity.  Despite all the stuff that's been going on in your personal life you constantly spread cheer and encouraging words to so many on N4Ms.  Your husband is one lucky man to have you in his life.
