Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 177 and 178

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yes those phones are for the new recruits now.  We beef up our letter writing.

It is so nice to see so many people keeping up with this, If I don't hear from my son, I know that means that one of you is getting the phone call and I know you are all experiencing the great feelling of hearing their voices.  So when on hears their child is doing good it is like we are all hearing it through each other!  thanks for that!

My son is also Ship 03 Division 177!!

Is anyone's SR getting shipped out the next day..possibly Mississippi? Just trying to find out if they know around what time they will fly out? Trying to book my return flight. Trip is already costing me a good bit but just don't want to miss out on seeing him off the next day.

No, I don't know when they will ship out.  When I booked hotel room, I asked hotel reservationist  if our son can take the shuttle back to the hotel after his PIR.  She said, "sure if he has liberty."  My husband, daughter and I extended our trip by a day.  Since we really don't travel as a family much anymore, we'll take some day excursions Saturday w/o our son if he is en route to A School.  At least we'll have some fun time before we return home. With or without our son.  Boo hoo.  Yes the trip hurts the pocketbook.  ow ow ow...

My son's recruiter told us that he will most likely ship out on Sat, small possibliity of Sunday, but any small time I get with him will be worth the trip there.  We are fortunate, my son will be going to A school in Charleston, only a 6 and 1/2 hour car drive, so we plan on spending many 3 day weekends in Charleston this summer, He has 3 younger siblings who will unfortunately not make the trip for graduation, (we only get 4 tickets and there is no way I would take 2 and leave one home) so we plan on visiting over the summer while they are out of school. Any one else's recruit going to Charleston?

PSweetfeet - My son is also going to Charleston for A school.  Like you, we are about 6 hours away and plan to visit him often.

My son will be going to South Carolina as well. I believe he leaves early Saturday after PIR.

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you all had a Happy Easter!! A little over 4 weeks to go until we can see our SR!!!! Im getting very nervous about the trip as I am traveling alone. Where is everyone staying? I was thinking about the Ramada Inn or Sleep Inn as they are close to PIR.

We are staying at the Navy Lodge

I had also heard the Navy Lodge was great and it is the closest. I just wanted to be around others due to traveling alone.

I just wanted to share the link for Sarge's meet and greet on Thursday afternoon. It looks like it is going to be really informative and fun!! You can also click to say that you are attending. He has a shuttle service as well $3 pp each way and picks up from the airport. http://navyformoms.com/events/pir-05-23-14-sarge-s-meet-and-greet-3...
