For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Havent been on in a while. My sailor was home on leave finished up Corpsman school and now just arrived a couple of days ago in Japan. He's loving it so far but still has jet lag. Hope everyone sailors are doing wonderful things!!!

Welcome to all the new NY Navy Moms and hello to everyone else! My son graduated A School and is T-Track waiting for PowerSchool to start in June. I can't wait for his leave to get approved and to see my boys face and give him a huge hug! :) I hope you and yours are doing well! :)

Comment by schotzi on April 18, 2014 at 11:32am: It really depends on what you want to spend - I would just do a search - the ships are on the west side of Manhattan and are docked near the Intrepid Museum - don't miss this - it's a terrific exhibit - you might want to purchase tickets for the shuttle exhibit before hand - I think they're limited. You could drive for convenience of getting in and out of the city; however, plan on either taking subways, taxis or walking everywhere in Manhattan - no sense in taking your car places - where there is some street parking - the way to get around is non-vehicle. Plan on taking comfortable shoes. Subways are pretty much from 7th avenue to Lexington looking east west and boundless - north and south. I live just outside the City and am from NYC. Plan on getting to the boats early - there will be a long line the later in the day it goes. As far as hotels, try some of the boutique hotels - weekend rates are usually cheaper in NYC than weekday rates - which would be more expensive for business travelers. If your son's boat is on Staten Island, you might want to bring your car in - that is more easily accessible by car. However, a trip on the Staten Island Ferry will give you great views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. There is no shortage of things to do in the city.

Comment by spomss on April 18, 2014 at 11:28am: nice Barbiew!! yup I know where Victor is...love the Eastview Mall...I am just up the road in Oswego...love the Amtrak to get to NYC...nice 5 hours or so and you are at Penn Station...and the subways make it so easy to get around...hope you can connect with others going-would be nice to stay at the same hotel??

I live in Staten Island and I can say if you plan to stay in Manhattan the Marriot Marquis great view of the west side!!!..Close to the 9/11 museum .Staten Island has a Hlton Garden Inn (1100 South Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314 )not close to the manhattan side but it has a great Brunch on Sunday, it's new and only about a 15min drive to one of the Staten Island Piers they dock ships at...maybe even your sailor's!!
