N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Lowie - is she div 179? She may know my daughter! Lol
Comment by Lowie on April 20, 2014 at 8:43pm
We got a call from Jordana, she sounded great, she says it's not as hard as they make it seem on TV. They made her the weapons petty officer and though she explained it I still don't understand it.

She didn't get to call last week because she had a wisdom tooth pulled... Yes just one, she almost passed out so they didn't do the rest.

She's loving all the mail and would love it if it kept coming! No more cards though as she has nowhere to store them.

She says there is a lot of yelling but she doesn't get yelled at because she tries not to do anything wrong.

When we go to graduation she wants.... Her iPhone and underwear! Lmao.

She loved getting print outs of song lyrics and her and her friends sent me songs they want.

She said the food is 'processed' so she's eating lots of fruit and veggies.

I'm relieved, I really needed that call. She said she only had 15 minutes but we stayed on the call just over a half hour.

She also mentioned the navy moms group and knows a bunch of your SRs. She named a few but I was so overwhelmed I can't remember them! Sorry!

She also said they have to pay for absolutely everything and it's over $1500 but they take it out of their pay in installments.

Hope you all get calls tonight!

My SR just called me. Made my Easter Sunday complete! He sounds great. We talked for 25 minutes. He told me he has 91 SR in his division and 44 males 47 females. All I can say is wow! Girl power! I told him today that GL was warmer than Florida. I am so proud of him and his strength to get through BC. Moms get ready div 179 is calling.

Hey all,
I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter.

You guys are part of this PIR group for a reason.  That is to learn and join forces together to understand the Navy in which your sailors are going through.  Many of you will develop  a strong cohesive bond to many of the others you meet here.  When you have the power of one another, it makes your journey so much better.

Don't be the sole dying ember.

Craig
---------------------------------------

A member of the church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.

It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire. Guessing the reason for his pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.

The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs. After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

The host watched all this in quiet contemplation. As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more. Soon it was cold and dead.

Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting. The pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave. He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire. Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.

As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek, 'Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the fiery sermon. I will be back in church next Sunday.'

We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little. Consequently, few listen. Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.
