My son leaves for MEPS/BC on April 8th...I have only 8 more days with him and am getting really emotional (more so than usual).  We are having his "Anchors Aweigh" party this weekend and I can't even fathom how I am going to make it through without lots and lots of tears.  I know I am not the only one which is why I was so happy to find this forum so I know I am not alone.

So it's official, our sons will be at BC at the same time! I hope they get to meet. We had a surprise get together this past weekend. It was awesome! I didn't cry in front of my son but talk about anxiety before the party!! To keep things light, I chose to have his get together at a trampoline park. It allowed friends, family, and my son to have some good ole fashioned fun. He has able to enjoy being a teenager for just a while longer. Good luck with your party and enjoy this week with Dylan.

What "job" did your son sign up for MzUnderstood? My boy is Aviation Tech. I hope they do meet and we keep in contact for support. I am going to try my best to not get too emotional at his party this Saturday but I am certain I will cry at least a few times.

Me too, I am keeping busy by planning and shopping for his party this Saturday but that makes it that more real so either way I cry :(

My girl leaves 4/9. Sitting here trying to hold the tears back while at work and I'm not succeeding.

I am not doing well either, I feel your pain but hopefully we can get through this together

My son leaves at the same time.  Spends the night near MEPS on 4/8 and gets sworn in on the 9th.  Party this weekend and I've told everyone they are NOT allowed to cry!  LOL.  My son is so excited he can't stand it so that makes it easier on me.  We're all in this together ladies!!

My son is super excited too, he is bouncing off the walls.  He is actually with his recruiter right now getting all that stuff done.  I am almost done getting everything for his party this Saturday and he too is excited about it and too see all the family and friends there to support him.  I am tearing up for the first time today as I type this so I am doing good!!!

My daughter just left on the 15th and got there the 16th.  she was up for 36 hours when all was said and done.  I miss her terribly, I feel your pain for sure,  hang in there though, we can do this!  It is nice to know that we are all going through this together.  I was very emotional before she left, still am.  I see things at the store she used to buy, or ask me to buy, I will tear up.  I think it will get easier as time goes on.  Still fresh right now!  Take care and know that we will be a good support to eachother over the next many weeks!
