~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hmmmm, Marie, interesting that he mentioned this site.  Let's see.....did he say that his RDCs sometimes go on it?  Did he say that we seem to have more info here than they do THERE?  Both statements are true!  :-)

So glad you got such a nice long call!

Pam, I have to agree with CatMom on the Ramada....their MeetandGreet is not nearly as informative and well-attended as Sarge's is.  He will give you lots of info for PIR...some you may have already received on this site, but last-minute tips from him are very valuable.  He also has a shuttle (taxi) service and will have sign up lists there for those needing a ride to/from PIR.  He charges the same as the area shuttle (taxi) service does:  $3/pp each way, but if you use his service from the airport, he will take you to PIR for free.  Also, yes, be sure to check the reviews on the Ramada.  We receive very mixed reviews on here about that hotel.

Good Morning All!

Momof3 - I think I might be going to the meet and greet but I'll know for sure once I figure out my scheduling for that day. My husband is div 180.

Also, I got a call yesterday from my SR! We talked for a whole 40 min (much better than the last 6 min call) and he's doing a lot better than when he last called, much more confident. Mentioned the navyformoms website but for the life of me can't remember all what he said. He did say he wrote about it in the next batch of letters that should arrive soon.

He also wished me a happy birthday and a happy Easter. Couldn't have gotten better than that.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Friends,

I have just put up my "PERTINENT PIR TIPS" up in the Discussion Forum.  Please check it out for any tidbits you can use for your own PIR~~

Pam,

I have heard from ladies who had attended both at different times and I, myself attended Sarge's Meet & Greet.  It is packed full of info from Sarge and yummy food, with brownies baked by his lovely wife.  I also met some precious Navy moms!  Not sure if this PIR group might have a Basket Project to help out Sarge and his wife...  If it does, there will be info up in the Discussion Forum.

The one at the Ramada is more low key and the people don't tend to mingle.

You might want to check out reviews on TripAdvisor or Yelp on the Ramada~~

My sons PIR is 5/23 we are staying Thursday night at the Ramada and they have a meet and greet there on Thursday night, but I am seeing alot about the meet & greet at Sarges is one better then the other???? I don't want to miss out on anything. Has anyone else stayed at the Ramada, is that an okay place to stay for this????

Would anyone from div 179 or 180 like to reserve a table at sarge's meet and greet? I saw on FB that some of the divisions are doing that.

Thanks everyone :)

Happy Easter everyone, we are back from a weekend of camping. We stayed in a cabin which was great because it rained all day Friday and Saturday and the FREE WiFI did not work at all. I have never been so bored in all my life lol. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had not been raining and being stuck in the cabin wouldn't have been bad if we could have gotten on the computer. But now we are home and glad to be "connected" again. I was having withdrawal lol We did see some Elk near the campground. We were in Cherokee NC :)
