~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Saw this on the left of our page under Latest Activity so I checked it out....great video of BC life. A little off on the amount of time we get for the "made it here" phone call, but a great video to show us what's going on with our SR! Thanks NavyforMoms!
BEST EASTER EVER!!! On the way to MIL's house, my phone rang and it was our son!!! SO happy to hear his voice. He is doing "pretty good" (he guesses...) trying to stay caught up with all the training. He called his girlfriend first (probably typical) so didn't have much more than a couple of minutes with us, but man am I a happy Momma today! Everything I wanted to ask him or tell him will just have to go in letters I guess, lol. I told him his Dad and I were going to come and he seemed happy about that.
Thanks cindyb....! That picture was taken by M-i-L ages ago, lol! But one of my favorites :) Hubby was about the same age our son is now when this picture was taken.
I'm a nuke mom too! Ship 02 Div 929 My SR did tell me he is in Drill, so as long as all goes well, I should get a glimpse of him on the live feed at the two PIRs before his. I can hardly wait! We are so proud of him and ALL the SRs!!
Yes, I did mean Sarge's Meet & Greet. I guess there could be a couple of others, but this sounds like the one most are going to. Hubby relented and is good to go, so we will be there! He got our travel arrangements finished today :-)
I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter...I sure did!
Cheryl: Although you are allowed to use your SR's first names on here, we recommend against that just so your SR's can remain more anonymous on here. The RDCs do sometimes read these pages as well as some of the FB groups, so it is best to try and stay "disconnected" from personal info re: your SR on here. Also, your SRs may not know first names....since they are all called by last names!
If you want, you can use a SR's initial and hometown to try and find others on here, then private message with them if someone responds. You can share more info when you private message.
Welcome, Kim!
Thanks Dianne :) Beth I will send you the info for the PIR ribbons :)
Happy Easter everyone, we are back from a weekend of camping. We stayed in a cabin which was great because it rained all day Friday and Saturday and the FREE WiFI did not work at all. I have never been so bored in all my life lol. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had not been raining and being stuck in the cabin wouldn't have been bad if we could have gotten on the computer. But now we are home and glad to be "connected" again. I was having withdrawal lol We did see some Elk near the campground. We were in Cherokee NC :)
