MIssmom, sending a lot lot of love and light to your BIL.  I have had colon cancer myself, and that surgery is no joke.  I still have complications from the incision site 10 years later.  Sucks.  It does get better, but the early days when even sleeping and breathing are complicated are tough.  But yes, he needs to be up on his feet, that kickstarts the healing process.  I was eager to get up so they would take out the catheter.  Guys are lucky.

Susie, hang in there!  Your Sailor will be very busy, but will call you as soon as he can.  He will want to share everything about his new world with you.   It is hard, but you will be so proud just listening to him.

Update on all of my family..... Brother-In-Law and Nephew both made it to our family Easter.  They both are still on a "no chew" diet, and are both really tired of it.  My brother-in-law had an upper GI this morning and will have another test on Friday.  Hopefully they will be able to determine what is going on and can also fix it.

My other Brother-In-Law had surgery yesterday for colon cancer.  The drs feel that they removed it all.  They will be determining whether he will have to take treatments when they get the pathology reports back.  He has been in a lot of pain.  My sister said they would be getting him up this morning, and he was not looking forward to that.  She said he has a very low pain tolerance level and not dealing with it very well.  I know every day will be better for him, but he doesn't want to hear that right now.

Sunday afternoon my daughter and I were heading out the front door and I stepped off of the bottom door step, I stepped in a hole (black lab has been digging everywhere in our yard), and I rolled my left ankle and feel and literally rolled all over my front yard.  It scared my daughter half to death!  The first thing I said to her was, "do you think those people walking saw me roll like a beached whale"?  She said, Dear Lord, Mother, don't worry about that, are you alright"?  I skinned my shin really bad on the rocks around my flower bed, and thought I was ok.  Last night I got to the point that I could barely walk.  I put an ankle brace on it, and it felt better but couldn't stand that thing on the top of my foot (last surgery incision).  I went on my lunch break and got an Ace bandage and it that working pretty good.  I swear, I take on step forward and 3 backward!   I am going to be okay, just frustrated.  I had just got back to where I could run again, and now this.   I really think it will be okay soon, hopefully.

Hubby helped me get my perspective lined up right last night.  One of his co-workers lost a son in a car accident Sunday night. So very sad.... such a sweet family.  My problems are truly nothing compared to so much sadness in others lives.

Hope all of you are well and had a wonderful Easter weekend with your families.  Would have love to have had my Sailor home with us all, but were blessed to be able to talk to him.  His wife had to work.  They loved their Easter baskets that I sent to them.  Made my heart happy.

Oh the "shop" is coming along.  My daughter and I helped Hubby with the rafters on Sat.  We were all exhausted, but happy that he got them all up.  He was thankful for our help! He gets excited with the progress.

I decided to     send what message I had - I don't want to go through the no sending because i gossip too much.

Here the weather si so weird. Right now it cannot make up its mind if it wants to rain - or just sprinkle or just look/feel like it wants to rain. And that lovely air pressure in your ears too.

Gossip I have: was able to talk with my sailor for over an hour on Sunday :). He is dong fine, work going well, long distance girl friend is coming our for a short visit, and he told me to watch the mail for a package he mailed.  It is his brother's birthday  present.

Other news - we finally were able to visit a friend who is at a rehab center. She is 93 and fell and broke her hip. Well, she healed wonderfully from the surgery - was dong fine at rehab - until that uninary track infection came with revenge. she has had this infection all year and each time it gets worse. Well, its a lulu now. But i feel so bad, she talks of going home and honest - I know she will not be returning home . She looks so bad. I mean bad. No color - no energy - she looked just like her hubby ( I called him Grandpa) did when he dies 5 days later. You guess it - I've been wondering if she is going to leave.

Then to top it off -as hubby and I walked into this rehab place - my hubby sees  his brother in law standing at the door. They talk and come to find out - my hubby's mom is there too! No one called to tell my hubby that his mom had take very ill ( dehydrated) was in the hospital  - now are rehab. As soon as she can walk on her own - she will be home. But hubby is so pissed. NO ONE called him to let him know. His family has done this before too. And he will not say anything to them. Maybe if he did - this would stop. And she is doing better too :)>

Well, I am gossip out. Hugs all

Wow - right now after reading all the messages -that is the best I can say.

Anti M- did you fall - left something wrong - or just turned around and pinched those upper nerves? I feel so bad for you. Will use my hubby as proxy and send some Reiki to you. And then poor Larry not feeling good either. Well, at least you two were together. Take it easy.

BADma- gee, not feeling god yourself  and what GOSSIP !!!  Oh do keep us posted on this. I want this bum caught!

Sorry MyKid - your stuck here. As Maggs stated - once you come here - you stay here :). Glad older son's surgery went well and I have no understanding of what your sailor must be going through. That is unreal. Let us know where he is - as soon as you know.

Blondie - as usually you have been out running that Energizer Bunny. Do rest between all you do and glad your daughter made it for a visit.

Welcome Aboard Susie !!! AS you see what everyone does here - jump in the water and share gossip. WE all thrive on it.

Nice of you to drop in Barb - hi back.

Maggs - you didn't say what Angel did this Easter. She had to do something.

Ok - I have forgotten - please who shared about the young sailor who just had a brain surgery? Please - please keep us posted on him.

And Hot Pan Momma - aka Miss - updates - we need updates on nephew - and brother in laws!

Wish your DIL a safe and fun trip to Japan Kim . Sorry, still working on your Mojo Bag. Sometimes the bag demands on how it wants to look. And yours is picky.

Kathy - are you and hubby going to that car show this coming weekend? And how goes your job too?

I feel I left someone out. Sorry, just can't seem to get my brain to work today.

Thanks ladies. I am just wiped out.I think I got dehydrated on Saturday.

So, here's my story.I have an acquaintance who 'is in a relationship' with a soldier. From the get go, this situation hasn't felt right to me. I have a friend who did some research and made some calls to a couple of US bases. To sum it up, this soldier doesn't exist. I feel like I'm watching a train wreck. I've even reached out to Stolen Valor.. They agree this is NOT legit.

My acquaintance is clueless and when I figure out how to bring up this subject it isn't going to be pretty. As a mom of an active duty sailor this stuff really yanks my chain.

I will keep you all apprised as to how it all ends.

welcome Susie!

BAdma, my husband was home yesterday, he had an awful cold.  We did very little, some easy yard work in the beautiful weather.  His family is all back east, mine sent greetings on FB (they live only a few blocks away).  Yeah.

Mykids... well, that's the Navy for ya.  Rollercoaster!  I wish I had constructive advice, but sometimes things just need to work out on their own time.

Welcome New Moms!!

Happy belated Easter. Yesterday was a hard day for me. Not only was it the typical missing my sailor on a Holiday but I was sick on Saturday night I didn't get much rest. We ended up going to Tucson because I didn't want to listen to The Hubmeister whine about not getting to see HIS family, which meant we wouldn't get to see our daughter and granddaughter yesterday. They were at HER inlaws. My daughter and I are the only ones that realize that our husbands are more alike than they they do....damn 'mama's boys".

I have a story to tell, sorry NOT a funny one. but I gotta rest more. Be back soon!

OK, this is all getting REALLY crazy...as you know, my Sailor detached from C school has hard orders to Sasebo in hand, got a call 2 days before he was to fly out and was told there is a change in orders (verbally) as his ship he was assigned to is decommisioning and he is being reassigned.  So we wait, he gets verbal orders he is headed to San Diego on a ship there.  Then late last night, he gets his travel itinerary (new one) emailed to him with tickets again to Japan and he cannot call anyone yet it is too early and no one is at work yet....This is getting NUTS

Great news MyKid,  I'm sure he will love San Diego.  Are they 2 year orders?  Maybe his next orders will be Japan.

It can get cold down were they sleep on the ship, even in the tropics.

My sailor was told to carry $200.00 yen, just in case.  He picked it up at the airport.  He now has a big fat wallet with money from around the world. He loves showing it off.

He will be one of us on Tuesday.  He is driving his wife to the airport because she is flying to Sasebo to visit her mom and family.  New moms: he is a recruiter in NY state and met her in Sasebo.  I hope to visit them Sunday before she goes and he is going to come visit us when she is gone.
